New data from Netflix now reveals that Carry-On has moved from third place up to second place on the list of the streamer's top 10 most popular original movies of all time. The action thriller boasts a staggering 172.1 million views, with 344.1 million hours viewed. Don't Look Up remains in the top five, now occupying third place, with 171.4 million views, though it does feature more hours viewed at 408.6 million. What Carry-On's Success Means For The Movie

Will There Be A Sequel?

The fact that Carry-On has now become the second most popular Netflix movie of all time bodes well for those hoping for a sequel. Though the Variety that one isn't entirely off the table. "If audiences wanted a sequel, families wanted a sequel, and if we had an idea that would spark and live up to the original, maybe we would do something," he told the outlet.

Egerton, too, has expressed tentative interest in making Carry-On 2, telling Red Notice 2 was announced after the original movie's success, and there has since been no movement on that film, suggesting viewership success alone isn't always enough to get another movie going. Whether a sequel happens or not, Carry-On is undoubtedly a major win for Netflix.
