Warning! Contains spoilers for Carnage #3!Carnage is one of the most brutal serial killers that the Marvel Universe has ever seen, and he's never shied away from taking credit for his kills. But now Carnage is using a new method for his murders, and he's not only manipulated a major Marvel hero into killing a victim, but he's also framed that hero for the entirety of his latest killing spree.

Carnage has recently changed his killing philosophy from indeterminate slaughter to killing with an actual point and level of theatrics. This is all in service of his new goal of becoming a god. After going on a killing spree, Carnage has begun leaving hints pointing towards Flash Thompson as the perpetrator. This started as leaving Flash's blood at a crime scene, but in Carnage #3 by Torunn Grønbekk, Pere Pérez, Erick Arciniega, and Joe Sabino, it's taken a major new step.

Flash Thompson is framed-1

As Flash Thompson tries to hunt Carnage down, Carnage manages to lead Flash into a trap and even tricks Flash into murdering Carnage's latest victim. Now Flash is at the scene of the crime and unknowingly participates in killing an innocent man.

Flash Discovers Carnage's New Victim

For most of Carnage's time as a serial killer, he's never cared about proving a point. All he's cared about is killing as many people as fast as possible. Now that Carnage is back from the dead, he's begun changing his methods. Instead of just immediate slaughter, he wants to inspire a new religion that will worship him as god. And to prevent Flash from stopping him, Carnage just implicated him in his crimes.

When Liz Allan analyzes a piece of evidence found at the scene of one of Carnage's crimes, she discovers DNA samples of all of Carnage's victims so far. But she also finds Flash's DNA, as well as that of the person they believe to be Carnage's next victim. While tempted to hand it over to the police, she relents for Flash to investigate Carnage on his own. Unfortunately, this plays right into Carnage's hands and allows him to frame Flash even more. As Flash arrives at the victim's home, he hears the man's cries for help. But when he flips on a light switch, it triggers a bomb that blows up the man's head.

Now that Flash is directly involved in the murder of one of Carnage's victims, he's likely to be hunted by the police, leaving Carnage free to continue his killings. Flash's allies were already wary of his connection to the killings, and Flash becoming Carnage's unwitting accomplice will certainly drive a new wedge between Flash and anyone who could help him. As Carnage continues to sway people into worshiping him as a god, Flash Thompson is going to need to find a way to bring Carnage down once and for all, and he's likely going to have to do it while evading the police and his friends.
