The Marvel and DC Universe collide in new fan art that imagines what Captain Marvel and Power Girl would look like if they became one single hero. Artist SuperiorDesignShoes shared their take on the combination hero, deg a new costume and look as Carol Danvers and Kara Zor-L transform into one character. The combination hero would be among the most powerful in both the Marvel and DC Universe with Captain Marvel and Power Girl's incredible abilities.
Captain Marvel and Power Girl are both powerhouse heroes in their respective universes. Carol Danvers first debuted in Marvel Super-Heroes #13, before taking on the Ms. Marvel moniker in the pages of Marvel Comics. The character had a bevy of different superhero names until she became Power Girl first debuted in All Star Comics #58 as the Earth-Two version of Supergirl. The Kryptonian hero has similar powers to the character she was based on and has been an important member of the Justice Society of America, among other superteams. Now, in new fan art, both Marvel and DC characters become one.
On their Reddit page, artist SuperiorDesignShoes shared a recent commission combining Captain Marvel with Power Girl, as the two heroes from different universes merged together. The result is a Marvel and DC fan art of a new combination hero whose costume pulls together some of the best elements from each character. The look keeps Power Girl's white suit but covers up the window on her chest. Captain Marvel's sash is draped around her waist, while she gets a red cape and a new mask that's quite like Carol Danvers' Ms. Marvel's version.
Interestingly, it seems like the fan art features Sentry's logo on the Captain Marvel and Power Girl combination hero's chest. If she also had Marvel's most powerful hero's powers, mixed with the DC hero and Carol Danvers' powers as well, the character might be the most powerful in existence. That's three powerhouses in one. But even with just Captain Marvel and Power Girl's powers, the fan art creation is definitely no joke when it comes to strength and abilities.
The design concept for the combination character brings out the best from both Captain Marvel and Power Girl, as it's a winning redesign for the DC and Marvel combination hero. It kind of looks like the Marvel hero Star, but is distinct enough that it's clear who the character is supposed to be merging. If Marvel and DC Comics ever brings back the Amalgam universe, the Captain Marvel and Power Girl combination hero would fit right in.
