Captain Carter is an alternate universe Captain Carter was integrated into the mainstream Marvel continuity thanks to What If...? which aired on Disney +. This variant imagines what would have happened had Peggy Carter taken the Super Soldier Serum instead of Steve Rogers. The episode proved popular with fans, and this March she will receive her own solo series.
Ahead of the book’s March debut, writer/cover artist from writer Dan Slott.
Marvel threw open its multiverse in style with What If...? MCU fans got to see the “paths not taken” for many of their favorite characters—Agent Peggy Carter among them. Captain Carter’s episode showed fans she was just as brave and heroic as Captain America-and fan response was overwhelmingly positive, giving this once one-off character a new lease on life. Jamie McKelvie’s redesign takes the What If...? look and modernizes it, while still continuing to stress the functionality of the original outfit. It is a fitting redesign for the character’s first solo series.
Captain Carter was one of What If...?’s most popular episodes, so popular Marvel awarded her a solo title—and a brand new, amazing costume in the process.
