The design of the Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World's villains, but might be the most highly-anticipated.

Red Hulk looks fantastic in Captain America: Brave New World, but this makes me think back to past Hulks who haven't been designed with this same detail.

Red Hulk’s Captain America 4 Design Is Incredible

Red Hulk Has Been Seen In Captain America: Brave New World's Trailers

So far, we've seen most of President Ross' Red Hulk transformation that takes place outside at the presidential podium in front of a crowd. Reeling in pain, Ross turns into the Red Hulk, who emits heat from his giant body, and becomes surrounded by flames. This is a fantastic sequence which has, along with a later scene in battle against Captain America in a blossom orchard, provided a very detailed look at Red Hulk in the MCU. His design is one of my favorites in the MCU's entire history.

Red Hulk's design in Captain America: Brave New World is very reminiscent of the Hulk's own design, particularly from projects such as Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame. In these movies, the level of detail in the CGI and visual effects used to create the Hulk was outstanding, and this is clearly repeated in Brave New World, as the Red Hulk looks very real, and very clearly still Harrison Ford. This has made me very happy indeed, especially since Marvel Studios seems to have finally addressed a huge Phase 4 controversy surrounding another Hulk.

Red Hulk’s MCU Detail Makes She-Hulk's Design Controversy More Notable

She-Hulk's CGI Design Was Disappointing

Back in 2022, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law introduced Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. Bruce Banner's cousin and the MCU's She-Hulk, in live-action. Unfortunately, this debut occurred during a period in Marvel's history where there was great turmoil behind the scenes, with workers being stretched too thin across a slew of new projects being produced for theaters and for Disney+. This workload meant the quality of several projects was lacking, which had a serious negative impact on the visual design of She-Hulk.

She-Hulk & Thanos CGI Comparisons Addressed By Marvel VFX Artist

Digital Domain visual effects supervisor Jan Philip Cramer explains why Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk's CGI is worse compared to Josh Brolin's Thanos.

Overall, She-Hulk's often-dodgy visual effects didn't ruin the series for me, and I still consider it to be one of the best recent MCU installments. However, the sometimes-lackluster CGI did take me out of the story a few times, and many others had some more serious views on the matter, throwing a huge amount of criticism in Marvel's direction. The Red Hulk's very detailed design in Captain America: Brave New World seems to be addressing this problem, which is brilliant, though I'd love for She-Hulk to also get some of this love.

I Desperately Want She-Hulk To Return To The MCU So This Difference Can Be Fixed

After Red Hulk's Debut, She-Hulk Could Be Handled Better In The MCU

Despite some disappointing moments, most of the visual effects used in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law were incredibly lifelike, especially when considering reports that it was far harder to animate Tatiana Maslany's face realistically in comparison to the likes of Mark Ruffalo and Josh Brolin, who aren't as expressive. The fact that Harrison Ford's Red Hulk has also taken on a realistic appearance gives me hope for She-Hulk's future. I would love Tatiana Maslany to return as She-Hulk to bring a much more believable character to life in the MCU.

The most likely place that Tatiana Maslany could return as Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk may be in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday, which is set to pit a new team of Avengers, possibly including She-Hulk, against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to bring many Hulk-related characters back to the MCU, including the likes of President Ross' Red Hulk, Betty Ross and Samuel Sterns' Leader. It wouldn't surprise me if Bruce Banner's Hulk made an appearance, and this could also allow Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk to pop up, as the pair were last seen alongside each other in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's finale. After Captain America: Brave New World, I reckon She-Hulk's MCU design would be much more impressive, so I'd love to see her return.
