Activision has revealed a first look at the season one content update for Call of Duty: Warzone.
The story content is set to revitalize a singleplayer campaign that developer Treyarch has clearly put a lot of work into. The annual shooter franchise is typically known more for its multiplayer content than its singleplayer story, but that hasn't stopped Activision from raising the bar for this campaign. The game's tense Cold War setting makes for a story full of intrigue, conspiracy, and menace, and it also makes for a lot of controversy. Most notably, the presence of US president Ronald Reagan has drawn a lot of ire thanks to his reputation as the leader of the US, a reputation that is spotty at best and outright reviled by many.
But Ronald Reagan hasn't stopped Treyarch from continuing its story campaign with new singleplayer content in the season one update. The next step in this conspiracy-laden journey was revealed in a recent cinematic published to the made a strong tradition of in this campaign.
Long time fans of the franchise will surely jump at the chance to explore more of the history of Nova 6, and Stitch looks like a menacing adversary who should very ably capture the horrors of this dreadful chemical weapon. Fans can surely expect more of the cloak and dagger intrigue that the game has already established so well, and depending on what's discovered about Nova 6, there might even be a connection to the game's Zombies mode, which has been seeing some considerable story overhauls of its own.
