An announcement from Activision confirmed that Warzone will be integrated into Black Ops Cold War. Players will be able to move purchased and unlocked items, such as skins and guns obtained, over to the new version inside Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. However, guns that remain exclusive to COD Modern Warfare will not be available for Black Ops Cold War. Mechanics unique to COD: Modern Warfare will remain in the game, although Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer won't allow them.

Is Call of Duty Warzone Getting A New Map

What this means is that Warzone will likely be getting a new map, but it might not be ready at the launch of Black Ops: Cold War. A new map is coming but Verdansk could come back into play later, according to leaker Clues led players to the Stadium, and that's what's driven talk in online discussions about the direction the map is headed in.

There's new guns expected to come to Warzone with the release of Black Ops Cold War, along with new vehicles and cosmetic updates to the battle royale mode. It's going to be interesting to see how much actually gets changed with this mode, or if it is simply more of a 'new season' for COD's multiplayer standalone experience. The release of Black Ops Cold War might be augmented by a release of more Warzone content later on in the year. Here's hoping microtransactions don't ruin the release of Warzone content.

Buying the regular version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War won't unlock any special Call of Duty: Warzone. However, the Ultimate edition ($90) will get players three operator skins, three vehicle skins, and three weapon blueprints. Preordering the Standard edition of the game gives players the Woods Operator Pack. This includes a Sgt. Frank Woods Operator Skin, Voice Quip,  M4 Weapon Blueprint, and Finishing Move to use in both Modern Warfare and Warzone.
