After a brief discussion on the fate of the world, Zareth explains that her bond with Kingfisher is so strong that its counterbalance in the universe could threaten to destroy them all. While Hart only touches upon this element, the blurb makes it clear this narrative will be a focus throughout her fantasy book series.

The book's synopsis hints that Saeris is struggling with both her newfound position and her abilities, emphasizing that she must find a way to control them before she inadvertently puts her new kingdom and loved ones in jeopardy.
