The Boys season 3 may be welcoming another parody superhero to its ranks, but Ground Hawk - who is a nod to Marvel's Wolverine - could pose a challenge. The Boys is an adaptation of Garth Ennis's comics of the same name and has been a huge hit on Amazon Prime over the course of its first two seasons. The Boys is known for its tongue-in-cheek spoofing of major superhero franchises like the MCU and DCEU, and its no-holds-barred approach to R-rated content.

Many of the central "Supe" characters on The Boys are clear parodies of other well-known heroes. Homelander is a twisted Superman, The Deep riffs on Aquaman, and season 3 will introduce Soldier Boy, The Boys' worst version of Captain AmericaThe Boys season 3 is already highly anticipated because of the comic storylines and characters it's set to adapt, but showrunner Eric Kripke has also shown thus far that the series is capable of making big changes from page to screen. With numerous surprises surely in store, The Boys season 3 is likely to make a big splash when it eventually airs.

In the meantime, the show's creators have been building anticipation with the Ground Hawk, could  The Boys season 3. Unlike some of the show's other Supes, however, Ground Hawk could be a challenge to incorporate seamlessly because of his feral nature and literal hammers for hands.

Wolverine, with his adamantium claws and animalistic tendencies, is a bit of a wild character, but Hugh Jackman proved through nine X-Men films that Logan Howlett also has plenty of depth and humanity to explore. Ground Hawk, on the other hand, is explicitly feral in the comic books: murderous, cannibalistic, and unable to speak actual words other than his catchphrase, "gonna." This is all a side-effect of his exposure to Compound V. While The Boys certainly has the elasticity and absurdity to work in such a character for a few key appearances, it could be difficult to install Ground Hawk as a lasting cast member on  season 3, if that's what the creators intend, simply because there's not much more to him than his need to kill.

On a more logistical note, Ground Hawk's hammer hands could also pose a challenge. While Wolverine's claws do not impede the use of his hands, and he can retract them at will, Ground Hawk's hammers exist permanently in place of hands, to the extent that his G-Men teammates have to grab things for him and help him eat. As challenging as this situation must be for Ground Hawk, it could also be tough for The Boys to create believable hammer fists that translate well from the comics into live-action.

However, comics vs. show versions of characters and events have already departed in several ways. Thus, it's possible that the series will simply feature a version of Ground Hawk that skirts around some of these challenges. Likewise, given the show's pension for outrageousness, there's also a strong chance that Ground Hawk's incorporation as a feral Supe with permanent hammers for hands will fit right in. It could even end up being a highlight of the season. Ultimately, even though Ground Hawk may pose the show's biggest superhero parody challenge yet, he could also be a seamless and fun addition to The Boys season 3 so long as he is utilized right.
