  • From embodying both heroic and villainous roles, Padalecki's potential in The Boys highlights his range and ability to deliver compelling performances.

Since there are a number of supes who've yet to debut in The Boys is notable for its strong supes, as well as its scathing commentary on comics and the superhero genre in particular.

As such, Padalecki's previous experience with Supernatural combined with his commanding screen presence would make him a viable option for future appearances in the graphic, yet acclaimed live-action adaptation. Furthermore, Jared Padalecki would star in The Boys under one condition, which already suggests he's interested in reuniting with Jensen Ackles and Eric Kripke, both of Supernatural fame. With Padalecki's previous work on Supernatural and his willingness to be a part of The Boys, there are many characters with which he could deliver compelling performances.

10 The Boys Actors That Would Be Perfect For Marvel & DC Roles

The Boys is full of memorable characters, many of them superheroes, but ten from the cast would be perfect for Marvel and DC roles.

9 Critter

Critter is a parody of Beast from the X-Men.

Critter in The Boys.

Though Critter's bestial appearance may indicate otherwise, he's actually a human-like supe like many others prominently featured throughout The Boys. However, due to the extreme amounts of Compound V exposure he experienced during his childhood, Critter developed hair all over his body along with other canine-like features, hence his name. As a direct parody of X-Men's Beast, Critter isn't nearly as intelligent as his Marvel Comics counterpart, and his rampant homophobia makes him decidedly unlikable.

Given that Padalecki primarily plays good guys, it would be fun to see him take on a role in which his character is ostensibly deplorable.

However, considering The Boys' proclivities for criticizing mainstream comics, Critter's overwhelmingly negative traits actually suit the comic's overall vibe and aesthetic perfectly. Given that Padalecki primarily plays good guys, it would be fun to see him take on a role in which his character is ostensibly deplorable. Additionally, Padalecki's imposing frame and Shaggy-like appearance are perfect for Critter, and given all the character's abhorrent qualities, he presents a great opportunity for Padalecki to flex his antagonistic chops.

8 Blarney Cock

Blarney is the illegitimate son of Queen Maeve and The Legend.

Blarney Cock The Boys Image

Due to Blarney Cock's illegitimacy, he was raised in an Irish orphanage in the offices of Vought before being recruited into the American-based adolescent team, the Teenage Kix. Blarney Cock would swiftly form a close bond with fellow member, Whack Job, after which both men would steal drugs from various children's hospitals to satisfy their substance abuse habits. Although Blarney was killed by a Compound V-enhanced Hughie, he was revived via Vought's Compound V reanimation effort, which introduced the element of zombies into The Boys.

Padalecki as a drug-deprived zombie is something audiences haven't seen yet, which is why Blarney would be an interesting role to see him in. Since Blarney is Queen Maeve's illegitimate son, seeing Padalecki interact with Queen Maeve actress Dominique McElligott would give her version of the character even more layers than what's already been seen. Even though Blarney is mostly a joke character, Padalecki is more than capable of giving the character the necessary depth to make his substance abuse and troubled relationship with his parents engaging.

7 Mister Marathon

Mister Marathon was the original speedster in The Seven.

The Boys Mister Marathon Dynamite

In addition to being an obvious nod to DC Comics' The Flash, Mister Marathon was one of the original of the Vought-sponsored superhero team, The Seven, and while he wasn't a saint, he also wasn't as bad as his teammates. As the group's speedster, Mister Marathon was responsible for some of the team's more time-sensitive missions. However, after a failed attempt at preventing the September 11, 2001, attacks, Mister Marathon was brutally murdered in all the carnage, which introduced A-Train to the Seven.

Padalecki and A-Train actor Jesse T. Usher could exchange many racially-charged jabs at each other given the show's style, which would make for fun and provoking commentary about privilege and opportunity.

Although Mister Marathon was killed off well before the events of The Boys, it isn't out of the question for Mister Marathon to make a reappearance in some shape or form, which would set up an interesting rivalry between himself and A-Train. Padalecki and A-Train actor Jesse T. Usher could exchange many racially-charged jabs at each other given the show's style, which would make for fun and provoking commentary about privilege and opportunity. The Boys also does an excellent job handling rivalries between characters as seen in "Herogasm," so a race to the death between the two speedsters would be perfect for Padalecki and Usher.

6 Five-Oh

One of the founding of the G-Men.

Five-Oh in The Boys.

Along with fellow G-Men member, Cold Snap, Five-Oh was one of the founding of the G-Men alongside John Godolkin. As such, Five-Oh is The Boys' version of Cyclops, and as his name would imply, he dresses and acts like an officer of the law. However, given The Boys' biting sense of humor, Five-Oh is depicted as an overtly racist and hedonistic man who cares more about making money than actually saving lives. Furthermore, Five-Oh proves time and again to be a poor leader, something completely the opposite of Cyclops, which makes him an even worse character.

Considering Padalecki predominantly plays honorable lawmen, it would be a great change of pace to see him as a member of the law who is unapolgetically evil. Perhaps the best example from Padalecki's career that highlights why Five-Oh wouldn't be a bad choice for him is his starring role in The CW show, Walker. Although the two characters have completely different moral comes, Padalecki could take the grit and southern drawl on display in Walker, and subvert it in a way that would reflect some of the world's less honorable of law enforcement.

5 SwingWing

SwingWing is the adult version of Tek Knight's sidekick, Laddio.

SwingWing in a from The Boys.

SwingWing is a parody of Nightwing, and given his relationship to Tek Knight, The Boys' quasi version of Batman, the reference makes sense. SwingWing is depicted as an All-American hero, and because of his popularity among young people in The Boys, is propped up by Vought-America as one of the most humble and down-to-earth heroes on their roster. However, despite SwingWing's curated image, he's actually one of the most overtly homophobic men in The Boys, despite Vought-America marketing him as a champion for gay rights.

Boasting a tall frame and piercing eyes, Padalecki possesses what many would consider All-American looks, which physically makes him a perfect candidate for SwingWing.

Padalecki has the physical characteristics needed for a live-action take on SwingWing. Adding to that is his Supernatural co-star's connection to Batman. Considering Ackles has voiced the Dark Knight multiple times, casting Padalecki as SwingWing would be a nice, subtle nod to Ackles' Batman work.

From the Amazon show's pilot episode to the last season's finale, The Boys' best episodes are prime examples of contemporary superhero satire.

4 Jack From Jupiter

Jack from Jupiter's alien-like appearance is a clear reference to DC Comics' The Martian Manhunter.

Despite Jack from Jupiter's gangly, alien-like appearance, he is actually a human-like, supe similar to many others in The Boys. Although Jack from Jupiter isn't nearly as popular or respected as his fellow of The Seven, he is just as vapid and willing to turn a blind eye to his team's numerous acts of amorality. Additionally, it is implied that Jack from Jupiter has an attraction to minors, which arguably makes him one of the worst supes in The Boys.

Jack from Jupiter would be an interesting role for Padalecki, given the character's lack of morality and unique appearance. While Padalecki's Sam Winchester from Supernatural has demonstrated time and again an aptitude to delve into the dark side, and his titular protagonist from Walker isn't prone to violent outbursts when dealing with particularly challenging criminals, both characters still maintain a strong moral com overall. Jack from Jupiter is a coward who engages in extremely questionable and concerning sexual activities, which would be the perfect role for Padalecki to fully embrace a character's worst impulses.

3 Big Game

Big Game is the leader of the Teenage Kix.

The Boys Big Game Comic

Big Game is the leader of Teenage Kix, a superhero group marketed to young people in an effort to convince them that Vought cares about their futures. Despite his appearance, Big Game is actually a teen, with his muscular adult visage being a direct result of extreme Compound V exposure as a child. While the character talks a big game, hence his name, Big Game is one of the more cowardly characters, often losing fights that he starts, and bullying others for their homosexuality despite his own bisexuality.

Big Game's complexity would be perfect for Padalecki despite the age gap. In fact, Padalecki's imposing frame and muscular appearance would already be more than enough to replicate the physicality of Big Game. Padalecki has already demonstrated time and again the ability to play characters who are complex and flawed despite their efforts to help others. With The Boys' unique spin on morally conflicted characters, Big Game would be one of the best characters for Padalecki to breathe new life into.

2 Modern Soldier Boy

The comics have three versions of Soldier Boy.

As demonstrated by The Boys season 3, Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy is a clear reference to Marvel Comics' Captain America. As the former leader of the Vought-sponsored group, Payback, Soldier Boy committed many atrocities on America's behalf before being captured and experimented on. Furthermore, Soldier Boy is revealed to be the father of Homelander, something that he absolutely loathes. Despite his significance to The Boys, there are two other versions of Soldier Boy, as the name is merely a legacy title used by Vought-America to spread American propaganda throughout the world.

Padalecki appearing as the improved Soldier Boy could also set up a battle between both versions or even a team-up against Homelander in later seasons.

However, The Boys' version is a blend of all three versions of the character, with Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles debuting a blend of all three versions in The Boys' third season. Since Ackles and Padalecki have such a close relationship both on and off camera, it would be a nice jab at their relationship if Padalecki were cast as the new and improved Soldier Boy. Padalecki appearing as the improved Soldier Boy could also set up a battle between both versions or even a team-up against Homelander in later seasons.

1 Malchemical

Malchemical was a member of Team Titanic before ing Super Duper.

Malchemical The Boys

Malchemical is arguably one of The Boys's most evil characters in the series, which is saying a lot, considering the likes of Homelander and even Butcher. However, as a former member of Team Titanic, Malchemical uses his shapeshifting abilities to trick Starlike into having sex with him. As punishment, Malchemical is sent to lead Super Duper, a team of young, low-powered, mentally disabled supes. In addition to his trickery on Starlike, verbal abuse of the of Super Duper, and nearly killing Hughie, Malchemical would be the perfect villainous role for Padalecki.

Malchemical genuinely delights in his mistreatment of people, which would provide Padalecki with an opportunity to be the most evil character he's ever played.

Perhaps what makes Malchemical so evil is his utter disregard for the negative impact that his actions have on those around him. While Homelander is psychopathic in The Boys, audiences can sympathize with him to an extent given the sheer number of experiments conducted on him. Malchemical genuinely delights in his mistreatment of people, which would provide Padalecki with an opportunity to be the most despicable character he's ever played.
