Warning: SPOILERS for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #21

Although Naruto was recognized for its incredible cast of characters with fleshed-out motivations, even villains, Boruto has often fallen behind in this aspect. The sequel relied almost too much on Boruto and Kawaki, with the rest of the characters not getting much attention, including Sarada Uchiha, who is one of the protagonists. However, the current arc of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex became the stage for Sarada's character arc, giving her the development she needed.

In chapter 21 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Sarada finally shows the extent of her Mangekyo Sharingan powers that have elevated her on the series' power scale, being able to easily fight one of the Divine Trees, but her personal growth is equally significant. This way, Sarada has evolved past fan criticism to become one of the best characters in Naruto's franchise.

Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan Awakening Makes Her Evolve As a Character

The Battle in the Land of Wind Sets the Stage for Sarada's Character Development

In chapter 21 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Sarada Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan ability is finally revealed. However, even though one of the biggest criticisms of Sarada is that she didn't seem able to evolve without Boruto's help, she was capable of awakening her power on her own. In the chapter, Sarada's perspective is fleshed out about how she struggles with her own limitations, feeling lacking when comparing herself with both Naruto and her father Sasuke, which has prompted her to shut off her emotions as a weakness that won't allow her to achieve her dream of becoming Hokage.

Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan ability was finally revealed, and it's not only strong but has also redefined the power limits of Naruto's franchise.

This had affected Sarada to the point that she considered it wrong for her to become close to someone in particular, as she thought that a Hokage should treat everyone in the village the same way. This introspection gives more depth to Sarada's character and was the reason she was capable of reawakening her Mangekyo Sharingan, not only making her stronger than ever but also realizing her own potential and building up her future as a Hokage, acknowledging her feelings for others are a fuel to give her best in battle.

In the latest chapter of Boruto, Sarada reflects on how she shut her feelings and how she would stop denying herself from now on, as she has also been unconsciously rejecting her power. While this was associated more with a romance between her and Boruto, this is a direct reference to one of Itachi's most popular quotes in Naruto Shippuden Episode 337 during his fight against Kabuto, where he states that those who accept themselves are strong.

Those Who Cannot Acknowledge Themselves Will Eventually Fail. - Itachi Uchiha, Naruto Shippuden Episode 337.

Itachi said this to Kabuto, referring to his greatest mistake, which was denying himself and not sharing his burden with anyone leading up to the massacre of the Uchiha. The same thing happened to Sasuke near the end of Naruto Shippuden before being inspired by Naruto to not lose his identity and overcome the hatred which allowed him to be the best version of himself. This highlights the importance of recognizing oneself as it is the first step towards becoming strong, as Sarada states that those who run from themselves won't acknowledge reality and can't save others.

Although she later has a relevant role in the Fourth Ninja War, being relegated to a character who revolves around a love interest was one of the reasons that made Sakura such a controversial character in Naruto's story. Fortunately, this hasn't happened with Sarada, who, even though it has been hinted that she harbors feelings towards Boruto, is foremost worried about the well-being of both Konoha and her companions. Moreover, contrary to the initial belief that Boruto would once again interfere in the fight to rescue Sarada, this wasn't needed to defeat Ryu.

By successfully awakening her powers and defeating one of the strongest antagonists on her own, Sarada has not only demonstrated that she is more capable than some readers give her credit for, but she has also strengthened her resolve to be a Hokage. Thanks to Sarada's insight in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #21, it was confirmed that her dream of being a Hokage isn't based solely on her iration for Naruto, but also on her desire to protect others.

Sarada Became One of the Most Powerful Characters in Naruto's Franchise

Sarada Has Finally Reached Boruto’s Level After the Time Skip

The highlight of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter #21 is Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan technique, which allows her to control gravity by casting a sort of mini suns and altering the gravitational field surrounding it. This aligns with Boruto, who is often tied to the sun theme, and the god Amaterasu, as she is also called Ohirume. This way, it's connected with Sarada's emotions but also with her roots as an Uchiha, being an exceptionally strong power due to its infinite potential.

Sarada is able to float and create spheres with a gravity similar to that of a star, which could also suck and repel the things that she targets. Furthermore, Sarada increased the gravity of her spheres, crushing Ryu upon its weight and generating enough energy that caused it to explode and turn him into particles.

Furthermore, the story only shows a fraction of what she is capable of doing, as when stars collapse upon themselves they create black holes, becoming a much more destructive power. Because of this, Sarada is currently one of the strongest characters in Naruto's franchise, even more so since it's currently unknown how far her powers can go once she gains more control of them. Nevertheless, by showcasing her growth, Sarada has become crucial in the fight against the Divine Trees and a compelling character in Boruto.
