This was the ability Eida used to make everyone believe that Boruto’s life had belonged to Kawaki all along.

While the series has not explained much about the technique, the series has hinted slightly at the way it functions. When Omnipotence has been brought up, the concept of a Chakra network that connects all living beings is also spoken about. This may imply that the only way for Boruto to recover his previous life and clear his name is by connecting with the energy that links all creatures on the planet.

During chapter 29 of the Boruto manga, Naruto holds a conversation with Kawaki, in which he takes the time to explain how Chakra works. The Hokage revealed that Chakra is a powerful energy that resides inside every living creature, connecting them no matter how far apart they are. While unlikely that Naruto was aware of how truthful his words were then, Amado later confirmed this theory. To be given asylum in Konoha after deflecting Kara, the scientist explained that the Otsutsuki Clan’s main goal was to absorb the energy of the planet’s living beings.

The network Chakra created is not discussed until the original series' final chapter. As Eida’s Omnipotence begins to change the memories of everyone in the world, a multitude of white, thin lines can be seen. These drawings heavily suggest that the Chakra network is being affected by Eida’s ability. If true, this would suggest that Omnipotence is an ability that utilizes the Chakra inside a being's body to alter their brains directly.

This ability seems to work similarly to a Genjutsu, an illusory technique that uses the target’s Chakra against them. If both abilities indeed work in similar ways, Boruto would need to find a way to disrupt or eliminate the alterations in the Chakra network Eida’s wish created.

Long before the beginning of the series, there existed a powerful Otsutsuki by the name of Shibai. This being was said to have evolved into a deity after absorbing the Chakra of thousands of planets. Shibai was said to be able to alter anything he wished in the universe by simply willing it. His body was found by Amado several years ago, and the scientist used its cells to give the androids created by Kara, like Code and Kawaki, their superhuman abilities. Eida obtained her Omnipotence thanks to the Shibai cells Amado used in her.

Shibai was seemingly able to utilize this technique thanks to his unique connection to the Chakra network of the universe. When he was first introduced in chapter 75 of the original Boruto manga, the deity was depicted surrounded by several white lines, similar to those seen when Eida used Omnipotence. This depiction of Shibai implies that he also had a connection to the energy inside all living beings. Eida can manipulate the Chakra network only because the deity was able to as well, possibly to a much higher degree than her.

Momoshiki also suggested that the Otsutsuki God had used Omnipotence in the past. Likely, the deity holds the key to understanding and reversing the effects of Eida’s ability, which is why it has not been discussed further.
