Scenes from episode 5 of season 2's showdown with Moff Gideon.

While the episode ended with Din agreeing to Fett's side in the war against the Pykes, it opened to more traditional The Mandalorian fare, with Din hunting down a new bounty. The scene, which takes place in a meat factory on a ring-shaped planet, shows Din going head-to-head with his target as he grows accustomed to wielding the Darksaber. The rest of the episode continues to build on Din's backstory and Mandalorian lore, including the first live-action shots of Mandalore and a showdown between Din and fan-favorite Paz Vizsla. The episode also includes several other returning The Mandalorian charactersincluding the mysterious Armorer and Din's spaceship-creating ally, Peli Motto.

And now, game designer leaked footage of the cancelled video game Star Wars: 1313 making its way online, Parker confirmed that both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have included repurposed designs from the doomed game. One particular scene from The Book of Boba Fett, the meat factory scene, includes hanging meat, similar to those shown in the leaked gameplay footage. The Book of Boba Fett could have looked very different if Star Wars: 1313 hadn't been cancelled. The game, which would have followed Fett as he hunted bounties across Coruscant's seedy underworld, was a victim of Disney's Lucasfilm acquisition. Although the game's cancellation was disappointing, it's great to see assets from the project reused in the current Star Wars TV shows, giving new life to fantastic, unique designs. The Coruscant-esc ring planet and the meat factory, in particular, have done wonders for the show, helping to break The Book of Boba Fett away from its reliance on Tattooine.

Despite solid performances from its cast, The Book of Boba Fett hasn't had the easiest run so far. How much involvement The Mandalorian will have in the show's final two episodes remains to be seen, with Din intent on checking on Grogu, but at least the return of the bounty hunter has helped push the show in the right direction. With the show moving away from flashbacks and an endgame now in sight, The Book of Boba Fett looks to wrap up with a promising epic finale.
