Snipes had been away from the role for twenty years, and with Marvel struggling to get its Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali off the ground, it was surprising that Snipes appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine. There had also been rumors about how Snipes and Reynolds feuded on the set of 2004's Blade: Trinity, which made the affair all the more interesting. A Logan-Like Movie Would Be The Ideal Send-off To Wesley Snipes’ Blade

It Could Even Help The MCU's Blade

Logan is easily Wolverine's best solo movie and one of the most beloved and well-made comic book movies of all time. As such, the thought of getting a new Wesley Snipes Blade movie in a similar vein is very exciting. Snipes' Blade trilogy was R-rated, just like Logan, which means a grittier finale for the character would fit in with what came before. After Deadpool & Wolverine's Blade action scenes and snarky dialogue, an R-rated Logan-like Blade movie could follow Snipes' Daywalker on one last epic adventure.

Logan also worked because of Jackman's legacy as Wolverine. Snipes recently sured Jackman as the longest-running actor to play a Marvel character in live-action due to his return in Deadpool & Wolverine. That ensures that a Logan-like Blade movie would be charged with years of emotion, past stories, and reverence for that iteration of the hero. Finally, the MCU's Blade reboot has faced issues, with some fans asking for it to be scrapped in favor of Snipes' return. By getting a final Blade movie after Deadpool & Wolverine, Snipes could formally the baton to Mahershala Ali, helping the reboot.
