A new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombie map has seemingly been teased with the image of a poster that Treyarch posted on Twitter. The seemingly space-themed poster would not be the first time that astronauts or space travel was included in the Zombies timeline. The series has never shied away from using space travel, teleportation, laser weapons, and other sci-fi themes to enhance its already ridiculous but fun settings.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War released in November of 2020 Call of Duty Warzone, saw an integration of the new game's features such as guns, perks, and equipment alongside the previous installment's features. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also saw the return of the ever-popular Zombies mode, complete with a new map and mode variations.

According to a post by new Zombies map named Firebase Z, which is set to be released on February 4th. The image upon the poster also shows a soldier in hazmat equipment that is adorned with the omega symbol.

Previous maps in the series have shown similar scenes. Most notable is the infamous Moon map from Call of Duty: Black Ops along with the historic Ascension, which was set at an experimental rocket launch facility. The Zombie mode within the newest installment allows players to choose any of the Operators from the game's multiplayer mode while also sharing character Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Zombie storyline.

The popular Zombies mode has always had an ongoing narrative that has loosely strung together the many maps that the mode has seen through the years. At first, the narrative was only present through various easter eggs and map details that were put together by players to make assumptions about the mode's deep lore. This changed with the recent Black Ops installments, including Black Ops Cold War, as the different modes saw the addition of objective based map structuring and cutscenes to accompany the maps' releases.
