Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer got lots of new content with its Season 2 update, including new maps that players can jump straight into and new weapons available in the refreshed battle . As has been the case for a few years now, there will also be more to unlock during the season with some limited-time events.

Players will have the opportunity to earn a new Wildcard during one of these Season 2 events. Wildcards in Black Ops 6 are a Create-A-Class feature that gives players extra options when making their class, such as getting an additional perk or putting more attachments on their weapon. Season 2's new Wildcard will provide players with another decision to make. Unfortunately, it's not that powerful.

Black Ops 6's Flyswatter Wildcard Isn't That Useful

The Launchers Aren't Powerful In Black Ops 6

The Wildcard in Black Ops 6 Season 2 is Flyswatter, which lets players swap out their dedicated melee weapon for a launcher instead. Black Ops 6 is the first Call of Duty game to have a dedicated melee slot, which is a great addition to the game, but replacing that extra weapon slot with a launcher isn't worth using a Wildcard for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season Two is adding the new Slipstream perk to the game that drastically changes how players will move in multiplayer.

The Launchers in Black Ops 6 aren't powerful enough to justify using one as a secondary weapon, because the killstreaks in Black Ops 6 are easily taken down by normal guns. Using an LMG in Black Ops 6 like the PU-21 with FMJ attachment will take down an enemy's helicopter streak faster than the CIGMA 2B or HE-1. It's easier to have a dedicated class with one of these LMGs to quickly swap to when a streak gets in the sky and then swap back once it's been taken down.

Flyswatter Could Still Work For Camo Challenges In Season 2

You Can Get Dark Matter More Efficiently With The New Wildcard

While the weakness of Black Ops 6's killstreaks hinders the power of the game's new Wildcard, Flyswatter can still be an effective option to make the Dark Matter Camo grind easier. The Dark Matter camouflage mastery in Black Ops 6 requires a player to get the Dark Spine camo on 33 weapons. That's a little less daunting now that more weapons have been added to the game, and launchers are one of the easier weapon groups to complete because there are only two of them.

Four new game modes are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's online multiplayer, including two limited-time modes that won't last long in Season 2.

The Flyswatter wildcard can make it easier because a player can always have a launcher on-hand to shoot down streaks while they're completing challenges on other weapons. This will work while going for Gold camo on the launchers, as the regular Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 camos only require streaks being destroyed. The camos after Gold need killstreaks on enemies instead, which is still a pain, but for those early missions, Flyswatter can speed up progress significantly.
