With so many useful items found across the realms of Black Myth: Wukong, there are some, such as Curios, that must be prioritized over others when it comes to boosting your abilities and making yourself stronger in combat. Curios are small artifacts you can find, purchase, or be awarded, providing you with a wide range of enhancements in the action RPG.
As players can only equip two Curios at once, it is important to consider their effects, how they can best help you in enemy and boss encounters, and how they can complement your playstyle. While some are harder to acquire than others, all have unique benefits that will make The Destined One feared by many formidable Yaoguais.

To cure Poison in Black Myth: Wukong, players must use a particular consumable item that can be crafted or bought from the store.
8 Agate Jar
Rare
One of the earliest Curios you can obtain in Black Myth: Wukong is the Agate Jar, acquired in Chapter 1. This Curio's ability to increase Defense is incredibly useful, especially in the game's early stages, where you will lack certain abilities and enhancements.
As the action RPG lacks blocking or defense skills other than the tactical dodging system, it is important to increase your durability in combat, especially against bosses in Black Myth: Wukong, which this Curio provides.

To get this useful artifact, players must defeat the formidable Black Wind King Yaoguai, the second-to-last boss in Chapter 1. This tough opponent can be found in the Black Wind Cave region after the boss fight against Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth: Wukong. Black Wind King stands in a temple courtyard, which is accessible right by the 'Cave Interior' Keeper's Shrine.
7 Boshan Censer
Rare
Another great find in Chapter 1, Boshan Censer, is a Curio that many players can miss, as it is only acquired by taking down a secret boss in Black Myth: Wukong. This Curio provides you with considerable Damage Reduction, specifically when your Gourd's use has been depleted.
Equipping this Curio, especially during boss fights, can be a saving grace in Black Myth: Wukong. If you're in a particularly tough boss fight, such as one with two phases, you may likely use up all your Gourds, leaving you vulnerable if you still have a way to go before your opponent is defeated.
During these vulnerable moments, increasing Damage Reduction will be vital for survival, improving your intake of devastating blunders. This can also be useful if you're traversing a large area with lots of enemies before getting to the next Keeper's Shrine after your Gourds are empty.
To find this hidden Curio, you must find and face Red Loong in the Forest of Wolves region, in Black Wind Mountain. However, you need to find a key item from Chapter 2 before you can unlock this boss fight.
From Valley of Despair in Sandgate Village, head through the cave, bying the Rat guard, and follow the path to an open arena. If you haven't faced the First Prince of Flowing Sands boss, make sure to defeat him first to progress.
With the boss defeated, walk up to the crack in the wall of the arena and interact with it to squeeze through. This will bring you to a large empty cavern with a chest at the back containing Loong Scales. With this item at hand, you can return to the Forest of Wolves to face Red Loong.
Fast-travel to the 'Outside the Forest' Keeper's Shrine and follow the path, making a left by the two wolf enemies. Continue up this path until you see it split, with one way leading to a wooden bridge and the other veering left. Following the left path, continue past two wolves wielding swords until you reach a lake with a waterfall.
When you go close to the waterfall, you can interact with it to part the water and squeeze through the crack, taking you into the arena where Red Loong awaits. After your victory, you will finally obtain the Boshan Censer Curio.
6 Back Scratcher
Rare
Back Scratcher is one of the best Curios in the game and is fortunately easily obtainable in comparison to other artifacts. By equipping Back Scratcher, your Maximum Stamina will be considerably increased, allowing you to spring for longer, dodge more effectively, and use Heavy and Light attacks more often, therefore improving your overall abilities with your Stance in Black Myth: Wukong.
When up against boss fights, movement and mobility are crucial for survival and demonstrating your skills and ability to perform perfect dodges. Without Stamina, much of this will be unachievable, and Stamina tends to deplete fairly quickly if you haven't leveled enough Sparks into this Foundation skill.
You can get this Curio simply by completing Chapter 1 in Black Myth: Wukong. Upon doing so and traversing the world to Chapter 2, go to your closest Keeper's Shrine and use the menu to navigate to the Store, where you can purchase it for 2,400 Will. If you're a tad short, Kill a few enemies nearby and reset, allowing you to farm for Will until you're able to afford it.
5 Goldflora Hairpin
Epic
While there are not too many active quests to complete in Black Myth: Wukong, players can acquire the Goldflora Hairpin by taking up a quest named 'Man-in-Stone' in Chapter 2. Goldflora Hairpin is a unique Curio to obtain, as it doesn't provide offensive or defensive bonuses but is still well worth acquiring.
By equipping the Goldflora Hairpin Curio, you will gain more Will from each enemy that you slay, essentially improving your Will-farming yield. Will is extremely important as the primary currency in Black Myth: Wukong, allowing you to spend on particular items, consumables, upgrades, Medicines in Black Myth: Wukong, and more.

Once you complete the quest, you will be able to purchase the Goldflora Hairpin Curio from the Man-in-Stone himself for 12,800 Will. While this may seem expensive, using the Curio will easily make back the cost just by taking out a few enemies or possibly from a single boss kill.
To complete the 'Man-in-Stone' quest in Black Myth: Wukong, follow Wow Quest's visual guide on YouTube, starting from the 'Squall Hideout' Keeper's Shrine in the Fright Cliff region of Chapter 2.

Black Bear Guai is the final boss of Black Myth: Wukong and closes out the first chapter of the game. Chase him up the mountain and prepare to fight.
4 Tridacna Pendant
Rare
The Tridacta Pendant Curio is another excellent option with high utility, acquired as a reward for defeating one of the hardest secret Black Myth: Wukong, Chapter 2. With the ability to reduce your Spell cooldowns, using this Curio will allow you to cast your Mysticism, Alteration, Strand, and Transformation faster during combat, provided that you have the Mana to do so.
As boss encounters become tougher, players may begin to rely on their spells more, and nothing is more frustrating than having to wait for a long time for them to recharge, during which time you could be killed.
Similarly to how players acquire the Boshan Censer Curio, players need the same Loong Scales obtained from the hidden cave in Sandgate Village. You will then be able to face the secret optional Yaoguai King, Black Loong, in the Hidden Loong Cavern.
To reach this area, start from the 'Rockrest Flat' Keeper's Shrine in the Fright Cliff region, and head up the crumbled staircase, towards the waterfall, being mindful of the formidable Spearbone that hides around the corner. Continue up and interact with the waterfall to through it, gaining entry to the large boss arena.
3 Maitreya’s Orb
Epic
For those who want a Curio that will give them direct combat benefits, Maitreya's Orb is one of the best options to equip. Using this Curio allows you to avoid the next fatal blow from an enemy after landing a sufficient number of successful hits upon them.
While this requires skill to gain the benefits, you should still attempt to dodge hits as much as you can, and if you do get struck by a fatal attack, you will at least survive. While it isn't specific on how many successful hits it takes for the effect to kick in, it is worth experimenting to find out.
This Epic Curio is obtained in Chapter 3, specifically in a cave system guarded by two enemies. You can only get here after defeating the first Non-White boss, accessible from the 'Mindfulness Cliff' Keeper's Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy.
2 Jade Moon Rabbit
Epic
Another late-game Curio worth the effort of acquiring is the Jade Moon Rabbit. As enemies and especially bosses hit hard in Black Myth: Wukong, using the Curio's effect of increased Damage Reduction will massively aid in survivability.
This is especially useful if you don't quite have the protective armor you need or if your HP is low and you have run out of Gourd usage. To boost this already powerful Curio, get your hands on the Gold Sun Crow, which enhances this effect.

To get your hands on this potent Curio, you must navigate to a secret area within Chapter 4 to fight Zhu Bajie for a second time. Players must first face him in the 'Hut of Immortality' in the Webbed Hollow region before continuing from the arena into a cave and through a cracked wall.
This will bring you to a second arena within a cave, where you face Zhu Bajie again. By defeating him in this two-phase boss battle, you will gain the Jade Moon Rabbit Curio as a reward.
The Gold Sun Crow Curio is also found in a secret area in Chapter 4, 'Purple Cloud Mountain.' This region is only accessible after defeating the Venom Daoist boss twice. You can find it in a chest across the rope bridge from the clearing past the Scorpionlord boss, near the 'bounds of Deity's Abode' Keeper's Shrine.
1 Amber Prayer Beads
Epic
One of the best Curios in Black Myth: Wukong is the Amber Prayer Beads Curio due to its increased speed of Focus Point build-up. Focus is the foundation of all damage dealt by the player, built up through Light and Heavy Attacks, as well as perfect dodges. These are then consumed to perform powerful strikes and critical hits that deal further damage.
Building your Focus Points is crucial in any combat encounter, and they take some time to build up again before you can readily use them. Any item that can help you build your Focus Points up quickly is a must-have in Black Myth: Wukong, making this one of the best Curios in the game.
Editor's Note: The studio behind Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science, has previously been accused of fostering a toxic environment for its workers. The 2023 allegations include sexualized comments against women, misogyny, fatphobia, and more. More details can be found here.
