In Black Myth: Wukong, players will come face-to-face with several aggressive bosses who must be beaten to obtain unique items and special abilities. Each chapter features new bosses to defeat in a quest to retrieve lost relics. Within the first chapter is the boss Lingxuzi, a wolf-like Yaoguai King. His in-game description reads, “His grey fur speaks of fierce might, with blood-stained fangs that gleam in the night. Claws like soul-reapers, tail swings death’s song, Feigns Buddhist ways, but his bloodlust stays strong.”
Lingxuzi is an aggressive foe, using his claws and teeth to attack. His large size and aggressive nature allow him to quickly gain ground on his opponents with a single jump. He’s more aggressive than other bosses, so keeping alert is a must when battling Lingxuzi.

Where To Find Lingxuzi In Black Myth: Wukong
Head To The Forest Of Wolves
Lingxuzi is located within the Forest of Wolves, near the Guanyin Shrine. Head straight from the Shrine, making your way past a pack of wolves. On the left will be an area where you can initiate a fight with the mini-boss Wandering Wight.
After beating this mini-boss, continue through a small cave to a wooden path. Follow the path to reach some enemies outside the Shrine. You can either fight or ignore these enemies, then head up the stairs and activate the Shrine. Enter through the door and begin your fight with Lingxuzi.
How To Beat Lingxuzi In Black Myth: Wukong
Be Prepared To Dodge Lingxuzi's Attacks
Beating craft some medicine to take along, too.
As noted in the game, once you've ed through the gate, there’s no turning back, so make sure you're prepared for battle.
Once you’ve entered the Shrine and initiated the fight, Lingxuzi will drop down from the roof ahead of you. He will then lunge forward, swiping his massive claw in your direction. Jump back and roll to avoid being hit. Then you can start attacking him with your staff. His grab-plunge attack is the hardest to dodge, so stay alert. If you see him running toward a wall, you can bet he’s about to launch into his grab-plunge attack. Another attack to look out for is his howl attack, where Lingxuzi howls and knocks players back, dealing minor damage.
Continue dodging and rolling every time he lunges or swipes at you. When it comes to howling, make sure to keep your distance when you hear Lingxuzi inhale, which is the opening for the howl attack. Other attacks include:
Attacks |
Description |
---|---|
Lunge Swipe |
Lingxuzi rears back and then lunges forward while swiping his right paw and sometimes his left paw in a second attack. He then backflips away. |
Swiping Claw & Lunge Bite |
Lingxuzi holds his right claw back and then swipes it in front. He then rears back on his feet with both paws raised and lunges forward to bite. |
Slow Pounce |
Lingxuzi slowly runs and hops forward, leaping into the air and pouncing towards the player. He slashes his claws horizontally. |
Rooftop Lunge |
Lingxuzi jumps onto rooftops and leaps between them, circling the player until he lunges off and pounces. Temporarily breaks the ground on impact. |
Any of these attacks can be dodged by simply anticipating the move and then making sure to either keep a distance or dodge-roll in the opposite direction of Lingxuzi’s attacks.
The best way to beat Lingxuzi is to counter his attacks and use any fire abilities you have, such as your transformation art. Immobilize will end combo attacks early and allow a small window to attack him without him attacking back. Use your jump attacks as much as you can to close in the distance and get some hits on him. Keep your eyes on him as Lingxuzi is prone to losing his balance after a few attacks, giving you another opening to attack him.
Once you’ve beat him, you’ll be rewarded with around 700 Will, a Gray Wolf Mask, and a Celestial Jade Lotus Pill. Use the Celestial Jade Lotus Pill to increase your maximum health. The Gray Wolf Mask will be a cool accessory to wear as you continue your adventure through Black Myth: Wukong.
