There are many instances where teen dramas go off the rails. Fans wonder where the parents are and it's a common question when shows like, Heartstopper, there are examples of parenting that are realistic, yet ive.
In reality, these teen characters need all the and wisdom they can get. But what would the drama be like if the parents weren't around? Some of the most memorable teen shows do, however, have parents that did their best.
Sandy Cohen - The O.C (2003-2007)
Fans of The O.C. know where the series started it all. Troubled Ryan Atwood found someone he could trust in Sandy which is one of the reasons why he is one of the best TV dads. He was ive of both Ryan and Seth and even encouraged their budding friendship.
Fans could always count on his wisdom and humorous one-liners. The banter between Sandy and Kirsten was relatable and charming. Their likable personalities made their storylines interesting to fans of the show who tuned in for the teenagers. However, it was Sandy who proved that he was one of the most likable characters in The O.C.
Keith Mars - Veronica Mars (2004-2019)
Veronica Mars introduces Keith right away when the series begins. Veronica is a tough character and owes it all to her father that dealt with the town hating him and his struggles with Veronica's mother.
However, Keith was very protective of Veronica but also allowed her to be herself in the best way. They were a dynamic duo that brought the show to life with their witty banter toward one another. Keith remained in the spotlight of the series and fans sympathized with him.
Rufus Humphrey - Gossip Girl (2007-2012)
Not many shows depict present parents on teen drama shows. However, fans of Gossip Girl know just how close Rufus was to his children. Both Dan and Jenny were humbled by their life in Brooklyn. But Rufus provided for them the best he could.
There were many times they disobeyed him, but eventually, they had each other's backs. Rufus had his storylines in the series and fans didn't mind. He was a good dad to both Jenny and Dan. Their family dynamic sparked many Gossip Girl.
Liz Forbes - The Vampire Diaries (2009-2017)
One of the few genuine parents in The Vampire Diaries was Liz. Her character went through a transformation that fans grew to sincerely care about. From her views on vampires to the relationship, she had with Damon. Liz was fully involved in what the main characters were getting into.
She was never too demanding or negligent. Her relationship with Caroline blossoms in the best way. She was always at the center of it all and helpful when it came to the villains that tormented Mystic Falls. There were times when she got caught in the crossfires but, she ultimately proved to be the caring mother and sheriff that the town needed.
Karen Roe - One Tree Hill (2003-2012)
In One Tree Hill, the parents had their fair share of chaotic storylines. Despite the chaos, Lucas's mother, Karen was always there for not only Lucas but his friends as well. There weren't many present parents in this series but she acted as the mother figure to a lot of the characters like Brooke, Peyton, Haley, and even Nathan.
She was warm and approachable which is why people trusted her. Even when she was wronged, she remained headstrong and resilient. She will always remain a fan favorite when it comes to the parents of the series. And she is the one who gives the iconic quote about Tree Hill being the only home Lucas will ever know.
Noah Stilinski - Teen Wolf (2011-2017)
Noah Stilinski was another Sheriff's parent that acted like a parent. He was always there to set Stiles straight and keep him on the right path. He eventually grows to Scott and his friends from any evil that threatened Beacon Hills.
He is caring and protective of Stiles which is why they remained so close throughout the show's run. He also becomes a father figure to Scott as well since his father makes a few appearances. Teen Wolf. He is overall an ideal parent compared to the other parents in the series.
Lorelei Gilmore - Gilmore Girls (2000-2007)
Lorelei may not be perfect, but she has the moments that make her one of the best parents on any teen show. She is ultimately Rory's best friend and closest confidant. Fans ire their witty, yet charming relationship because it's very unique.
They are truly fun to watch together. At the same time, Lorelei provides for Rory and s her dreams. She has moments where she's had to be the mother instead of the best friend for the sake of the situation. In the end, that's how fans knew she truly wanted the best for her.
Melissa McCall - Teen Wolf (2011-2017)
Melissa is another memorable parent on Teen Wolf. Her presence is very known even in the first episode of the series. She is a comionate and brave character that's also there to lend a helping hand to Scott and his friends.
Their relationship is also very sincere and irable. Melissa is a hard-working nurse and a comforting mother to Scott. She's always there for him when he needs her and she is the most important person in his life.
Jean Milburn - Sex Education (2019-Present)
Fans of Sex Education know just how diligent and understanding Jean is. She tries her best to be comforting and reassuring when it comes to Otis. She tries to separate her personal life and her work life but has influenced Otis to be helpful to the other students at his high school.
There are also countless moments where Jean shares great pieces of advice. She may have her questionable moments, but she's a good mother and a comforting character to fans of the show.
Leslie Bennett - Euphoria (2019-Present)
There are many influences in the lives of the characters in Euphoria. And the characters go through many hardships without any parental supervision or very little supervision at all. Leslie tries her best with Rue while also raising Gia. She is one of the most relatable depictions of a mother in this teen series.
There are many moments where she seems to be at the edge of giving up but, she never does. She is filled with forgiveness and love, which is why she is the best mother on the show.
