The the realm of martial arts movies. Marvel Comics are actually full of outstanding martial artists, trained in a variety of disciplines and styles, and Shang-Chi is among the best of the best.

Some of the best Marvel martial artists are heroes like Shang-Chi, while others are supervillains. Many have already appeared in the MCU or adjacent properties, and with the advent of Shang-Chi, they all stand a good chance of returning to the big or small screen in the near future.

Batroc The Leaper might not seem like a world-class martial artist from his brief but fun appearances in the MCU. But comic book fans know he is one of the most talented fighters in the Marvel Universe.

This former member of the French Foreign Legion is trained in the martial art of savate, a French form of kickboxing. He's the best there is at it and has made it the cornerstone of his fighting style. While he's not on the level of some other Marvel characters, he is a highly skilled combatant.

Daredevil

Daredevil is also a highly skilled and trained fighter. He was trained in martial arts by a man named Stick and uses his skills, which draw from a wide variety of martial arts, to defend Hell's Kitchen in New York City.

Fans have seen Daredevil's fighting prowess in action in the Netflix Many fans hope to see him return to the MCU, and there is reason to think that he could sooner rather than later.

Wong

Wong is the valet of Doctor Strange in the comics and the MCU, but comic book fans know there is much more to him than just being a mere assistant. He is one of the most skilled martial artists alive.

Wong is a master in the martial arts of Kamar-Taj, a fictional Marvel Comics country like that of Madripoor. He is also highly trained in the mystical arts. Combined with his peak human fighting skills, Wong is one of the greatest fighters in the entire Marvel Universe.

Mantis

Mantis isn't really known as much of a hand-to-hand fighter in the MCU, but in the comics, it's a completely different story. She was introduced in The Avengers #112 in June 1973, co-created by writer Steve Englehart and artist Don Heck, and from the get-go, she was shown to be a serious martial artist.

Mantis was trained by the mysterious Priests of Pama to become a grand mistress of the martial arts. Her skills are so advanced that she was able to singlehandedly take out most of the Avengers, including Thor, The Vision, and Captain America. She later ed the team and even married in the same issue, Giant-Size Avengers #4, that Wanda and Vision tied the knot in.

Dora Milaje

As the The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, they are some of the greatest martial artists in the world. That comes right out of the comic books.

The elite warriors were introduced in 1998, in the first issue of the third volume of Black Panther, written by Christopher Priest and drawn by Mark Texeira. They are trained in a variety of Wakandan fighting styles, as well as proficient with numerous types of weapons, making them extremely formidable, as John Walker discovered in FATWS.

Black Widow

One of the best and most prominent Marvel martial artists has been active in the MCU since virtually the beginning. Black Widow is a product of the Red Room program and trained in a broad array of deadly fighting styles and techniques. She is trained in savate like Batroc The Leaper, but she is also highly skilled in jiu-jitsu, aikido, boxing, judo, ninjutsu, and numerous other disciplines.

Her athleticism and conditioning make her one of the best fighters in the Marvel Universe and a serious problem for even superpowered villains.

Colleen Wing

Colleen Wing was also part of The Defenders. She is one of the most skilled martial artists in the world, specifically in the art of Kenjutsu, or Japanese swordsmanship.

She is trained in many other disciplines as well, foremost among them K'un L'un. She is in some ways the equal of Iron Fist in of pure martial ability, though she has no superpowers or mystical abilities of her own.

Elektra

Elektra was introduced by Frank Miller in Daredevil #168 in January 1981 as the ultimate assassin. She was also trained by Stick in her early years, but she eventually fell in with the shadowy organization known as The Hand who trained her to be one of the deadliest assassins in the entire world.

Elektra is highly skilled in numerous martial arts, including Ninjutsu, Aikido, and Karate. She specializes in using a pair of sais, though she is trained in virtually every other melee weapon that exists in the world of martial arts.

Iron Fist

Iron Fist is one of the greatest fighters in the Marvel Universe. Trained in the mystical arts of the lost city of K'un L'un, he can summon the Iron Fist, a mystical energy that makes him incredibly powerful. He achieved this power by sinking his fists into the burning heart of the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying.

Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi is, by far, the most accomplished martial artist in the Marvel Universe. Though he has no superpowers of his own, he has spent his entire life from childhood learning a wide variety of martial arts and weapons.

He is a master of chi, a discipline that allows him to control his entire body in ways that make his reflexes and actions beyond peak human. Shang-Chi is so great a martial artist that he has trained many other Marvel superheroes in advanced fighting skills, including Spider-Man.
