The arrival of a new season in Fortnite brings the addition of new landing locations to explore on the map and new enticing opportunities for loot. The season has just begun, but some fan favorites return with new changes and some vibrant new locations. The west side of the Fortnite map has received the most love for new content, bringing some of the higher combat-based areas.
Rave Cave, Reality Falls, and some changes to Greasy Grove are the freshest additions to the map, and with that, they bring a brand new combat experience, whether on Fortnite mobile, console, or PC. Camp Cuddle and Command Cavern are no longer a part of the Fortnite map and have been replaced with those two new locations. However, they bring some brand new novelty and life to the map.
Beginning with the more combat-heavy drops in Fortnite, Chapter 3, Season 3, is Tilted Towers. Although there are no real new additions to Tilted, it remains a common area for players to go to get into some early fights and claim a ton of loot. Next, Greasy Grove with a new look and a significant amount of loot. With mushrooms now covering the location, Greasy Grove has a unique dynamic but still remains one of the best mixes of early game fights and great loot. If players walk out of Greasy Grove after the initial fighting, they will be well prepared for their next encounter.
Fortnite Brings Brand New Locations to the Map
Following the Fortnite live event, Reality Falls is one of the two new locations and is reminiscent of Camp Cuddle, with lots of open areas and small structures. Players should expect a quite the welcoming committee if they land there, as is customary with new locations. The loot there is decent and can be a solid landing if the team lands nearby. In No-Build mode, there are a lot of exposed areas. Rave Cave is a similar area to Command Cavern, but with an awesome reskin full of loot and a new roller coaster. Players looking for no holds barred chaos and some messy fights will find what they are looking for here.
For those who are searching for a more laid-back first drop with great loot, Sleepy Sound is an excellent location in Fortnite for teams of three or fewer. The loot might become a little scarce for squads of four, but there are typically only one or two other squads there. If players choose to land at Sleepy Sound, it is recommended to have the team land on the same side of the water, so they don't leave other teammates alone across the river. It is time-consuming and very dangerous to cross and by the time help arrives, a teammate may already be gone.
The new locations are an absolute spectacle to look at, and while they are still so new, players may find it hard to find loot accommodating their whole team. The volume of players that want to see the new areas is very high and may cause chaos, especially since Fortnite is crossplay. However, with some many returning locations, most players will find their favorite spots are still viable options.
Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Android.
