There have been certain creatures and species in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that have stood out. The series has introduced newer life forms as the films have progressed, with the intergalactic nature of the superhero franchise allowing for different types of beings to show up. Some are individual creatures who are part of particular species, while certain others are considered altogether different.

It’s interesting to see how they would fare should the Hogwarts sorting system from the Harry Potter series be applied to them. With Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff having traits like bravery, cunning, intelligence, and loyalty, it’s interesting to speculate where the MCU creatures will land should they ever attend the wizarding school.

The Great Protector: Gryffindor

Quite possibly the most powerful monster to come from Marvel films, the Great Protector is a mystical dragon and the protector of Ta Lo. It’s a creature that was basically designed to feel no fear and went on to battle the Dweller-in-Darkness.

The Great Protector has the nerve, courage, and bravery that Gryffindors value, with certain aspects resembling Fawkes the Phoenix as far as showing fearlessness is concerned. Overall, it’s a representation of the do-or-die attitude that the people of Ta Lo carry themselves with, which makes it an easy entry into Gryffindor house.

Goose: Slytherin

MCU's Goose in Captain Marvel

Goose is part of the Flerken species that look just like cats do until they unleash their horrifying tentacles. Goose is considered among the best animal sidekicks in the MCU, although she is on the adventure in Captain Marvel without really caring about the others.

Slytherins are self-serving people who look out for themselves before worrying about anything else. Goose was in the middle of a galactic conflict, yet she had no care for any of that. Much like a normal Slytherin, Goose’s interest lay in her self-interest, although that comes down to her animalistic nature.

Dijiang: Hufflepuff

Morris as seen in Shang-Chi

Dijiang are interdimensional creatures that are native to Ta Lo but have ventured into Earth as well. Morris was Trevor Slattery’s pet and companion in Shang-Chi, where the creature was very loyal to his human friend.

Hufflepuffs never discriminate between people, with their main characteristic being their extreme loyalty. Hufflepuffs stick close to one another but also reach out to those in need, and the Dijiang certainly behaved this way when Ta Lo was under attack. Morris' friendship with Trevor was such that he played along with acting dead as he did.

The Fire Dragon: Gryffindor

Thor in the jaws of a Dragon in Ragnarok

Easily among the most dangerous creatures in the MCU, the Fire Dragon was a vicious being that tried to eliminate Thor up until its dying moment. Gryffindors can get too wrapped up with their boldness, to the point where it transitions into arrogance and messes with their thinking.

The Fire Dragon was brave, seeing as it had no fear of Thor’s powers, and continued to pursue him even after Thor had pinned him down with the Mjolnir. However, it stayed true to Gryffindors’ stubbornness by chasing after Thor relentlessly until the Bifrost ended up slicing its head off.

War Rhinos: Gryffindor

While the Border Tribe would fall under Slytherins because of their lack of loyalty and self-serving mentality, their War Rhinos are quite opposite. These creatures are more than willing to launch themselves into battle, where they remain fierce in combat.

Gryffindors won’t be found backing away from a fight, with many willingly partaking in battles that aren’t even personal to them. The War Rhinos don’t have any beef with the enemies they fight, but their bravery in big-time wars remains unflinching.

Outriders: Hufflepuff

Thanos’ Outriders have a hive mentality, they attack whatever they’re supposed to without question. While the mean streak they have isn’t something usually found in Hufflepuffs, the Outriders’ tendency to work in swarms and remaining devoted to their master are qualities from the house.

Hufflepuffs value teamwork that enables them to overcome challenges together, which is exactly how the Outriders worked in both the Battle of Wakanda and the Battle of Earth. They stuck together throughout the conflicts rather than flee, which is the kind of hard-working nature that Hufflepuffs are associated with.

Fenris: Slytherin

There isn’t anyone more ruthless than a true Slytherin, as people from this house will not hold back if they’re in a position of power or want to seize control. Fenris was an Asgardian Wolf that belonged to Hela, and was so fierce that she came close to eating the Hulk until he got lucky enough to punch her off the planet.

Slytherins are naturally talented who have a sense of allegiance toward those they are close to. Fenris had a killer instinct unmatched by any other Asgardian, and her affection for Hela was also without question, as she lived and died to serve the Goddess of Death.

Deviants: Slytherin

The Deviants were sent to Earth in order to rid the planet of the apex predators, only to evolve and become the apex predators themselves. It’s the kind of thing someone would expect from Slytherins because they are cunning opportunists who seize the first chance they can get to consolidate their positions.

There was also a certain sense of viciousness that the Deviants had with the way they disposed of their victims, which anyone from the other three houses at Hogwarts just won’t be able to accomplish because they lack the brutality that Slytherins are capable of.

Alligator Loki: Ravenclaw

Alligator Loki from the Loki TV show

The prime version is a definite Slytherin, but the alligator version falls more in the witty and intelligent category. Alligator Loki is the source of a lot of memes because of his deadpan attitude, but he seemed to be wiser than the others in-universe, judging by how his words were translated.

He had a greater perception of the others’ personalities, which is the kind of foresight that Ravenclaws can have because of their innate wisdom. Ravenclaws are also wittier when it comes to banter, with Alligator Loki also having some one-liners that were hilarious to hear.

The Chitauri: Hufflepuff

The Chitauri were probably the first creatures that MCU fans came across, as the series went fully intergalactic when they were introduced. Although clearly villains, they are like Hufflepuffs because of their natural synergy, which saw them connected all together with the mother ship.

The Chitauri had absolute loyalty toward Thanos and then Loki, which is another association with Hufflepuffs, who can be manipulated if someone appeals to their trusting nature.
