The Ultra- Collection focusing on Charizard will be released on October 28th to celebrate Charizard and the PokémonTCG. This collection contains three amazing cards alongside several other Charizard-centered items, and of course, it includes 16 packs from the Sword & Shield series as well.

Charizard is one of the most popular Pokémon from the anime, games, and TCG. Given this, it's no surprise that the Pokémon has received so much attention in the Sword & Shield series. Especially when the Champion from the video games, Leon, had a Charizard of his own as his ace Pokémon.

Special Delivery Charizard — Promo

Special Delivery Charizard — Promo: Pokemon TCG Sword & Shield.

The Special Delivery Charizard was a temporary promo card that players could sign up for to obtain. Because of this, the card has become a bit rare and sought after by fans that are just recently getting into collecting. Unlike most of the major popular Charizard cards from Sword & Shield, Special Delivery Charizard isn't a V card and has to be evolved from a Charmeleon to use.

The second attack is more what players would expect from a Charizard and is Flamethrower that deals 160 damage, though after using the attack the player must discard one energy card.

Charizard — Celebrations

Charizard - Pokemon TCG: Celebrations.

Many players and collectors will likely recognize the artwork of this card as the first Charizard card released for the TCG. This is of course a reprint of the original Charizard but is still one of the best cards from the Pokémon Celebrations expansion. This card's ability allows the player to turn any energy attached to the Pokémon into fire-type energies as long as they aren't afflicted by any status effects.

This is useful for players who have plenty of energy cards but are lacking fire energies, and Charizard will need quite a bit of them. Charizard's attack requires four fire energies to use and deals 100 energy, but every time the attack is used the player must first discard two energies from the Pokémon.

Charizard VSTAR (Secret) — Brilliant Stars

Charizard VSTAR (Secret) — Brilliant Stars from Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield.

This epic card depicts fantastic rainbow artwork of one of the most popular Pokémon, Charizard. It's one of the most sought-after cards from the Brilliant Stars expansion and is one that players would be hesitant to use in battle due to its rarity.

However, the card is useful in battle with an attack that deals 130 damage plus an additional 100 damage if the Pokémon has any damage counters on it. It also has an incredibly powerful VSTAR Power attack that deals 320 damage, though the player must discard 2 energy from the Pokémon to use the attack.

Charizard VMAX — Shining Fates

Shiny Charizard VMAX - Pokemon TCG: Shining Fates.

Shiny Charizard has always been one of the most popular shiny variants of a Pokémon. It defined what a great shiny Pokémon should look like and has since then been well-loved and highly desired. So of course, the shiny artwork of Charizard VMAX would be one of the best Charizard cards.

Its second attack needs two colorless energies and three fire energies, to use the attack players must discard 2 energy from the Pokémon, however, it deals 300 damage.

Charizard V (Secret) — Champion's Path

Charizard V (Secret) — Champion's Path from Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield.

Much like the Charizard VMAX from Shining Fates, this secret rare Charizard depicts the Pokémon as its shiny variant in stellar art. The card is incredibly rare with many fans having purchased Champion's Path boxes and packs to solely try and obtain this card.

This gorgeous card has two attacks with the first dealing 80 damage. The second attack, Fire Spin, deals quite a bit of damage for a basic Pokémon by inflicting 220 damage (though the player must discard 2 energies every time they use this attack).

Charizard V (Alternate Full Art) — Brilliant Stars

Charizard V (Alternate Full Art) — Brilliant Stars from Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield.

This alternate full art card features Charizard in flight as it dodges attacks from one of the best grass-type Pokémon, Venusaur. Charizard's first attack isn't just for dealing damage as it discards all Pokémon Tools from the defending Pokémon before Charizard even inflicts its 90 damage upon it.

This can completely ruin the opponent's strategy and put the other player closer to victory. Charizard's other attack, Heat Blast, deals 180 damage and unlike many other Charizard cards, it doesn't require the player to discard any energy cards from the Pokémon.

Charizard VMAX (Secret) — Champion's Path

Charizard VMAX (Secret) — Champion's Path from Pokemon TCG: Sword & Shield.

This amazing secret rare Charizard is currently the most expensive Charizard from the Sword & Shield series and has been a card fans have desperately wanted to get their hands on. This is the same card as the Charizard VMAX from Shining Fates though of a different rarity and not depicting a shiny Charizard.

RELATED: 10 Best Cards In Pokémon TCG's Sword & Shield — Battle Styles, RankedThere is also a normal Charizard VMAX from Champion's Path, though this card is far less rare and easier to obtain for those who simply want the card to play with rather than to collect. However, those who collect cards, especially Charizard cards need to get their hands on this one.

Charizard VMAX (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard

Charizard VMAX (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard from Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield.

This promo card for the Ultra- Collection focusing on one of the best fire-type Pokémon, Charizard, features terrifying and near-realistic artwork of Gigantamax Charizard. This card is a new version of the same Charizard VMAXs that appear throughout the Sword & Shield series.

However, this will likely be the most expensive Charizard VMAX card in the future due to the high demand for the Ultra- Charizard Collection which many collectors and players want solely for the three promo cards.

Charizard V (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard

Charizard V (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard from Pokemon Sword and Shield.

This wonderful card displays artwork of Charizard relaxing after its battle with Venusaur and seems to be connected to Charizard V's alternate art card from Brilliant Stars due to the aftermath of a battle between the two Pokémon and the card having the same stats as the Brilliant Stars one.

This card will also be a rare card in the future and players wanting one should be sure to secure their own Ultra- Charizard Collection as soon as possible. This is an excellent card that players should desire primarily for their collections.

Charizard VSTAR (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard

Charizard VSTAR (Promo) — Ultra- Collection—Charizard from Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield.

It's difficult to say which of the three promo cards from the Ultra Charizard Collection will be the most desired by fans who miss out on the collection, but it very well might be the VSTAR promo card.

This card is absolutely exquisite and depicts an epic battle between Mewtwo and Charizard that very well may be outside the Cerulean Cave. Like the other promo cards, this Charizard is a new version of the other Charizard VSTAR cards seen in the Sword & Shield series.
