Paget and Ciara from Below Deck Sailing Yacht think that Malia was wrong for switching rooms. The designated yachtie couple survived their trips and hope that the new cast will prevail, too.
The trailer for season five of Below Deck Med promised fans a whirlwind of adventure and included a clip that showed Captain Sandy confronting someone on board who had drugs. This turned out to be Chief Stew, Hannah Ferrier. Many Bravo fans believed it would be a charter guest. Fans' mouths hit the floor as they watched Malia White, the bosun, report that Hannah had been using Valium and had a weed pen in her bathroom. Hannah made sure to live-tweet the episode, to tell fans her side of the story. However, it looks like she will be losing her job.
While Hannah claims that Malia tattled on her in retaliation for not wanting to switch rooms, the bosun claims that the allegation is untrue. Malia's boyfriend, Tom, has now become the new chef and she is wanting to shack up with him. This move would force Bugsy Drake and Hannah, who are longtime enemies, to bunk with each other. Captain Sandy became involved and granted the bosun the right to choose a cabin. Bravo Confessional had a chance to interview Paget and Ciara from Below Deck Sailing Yacht, to get their take on whether Malia was right or wrong. Check out the video below:
Both Ciara and Paget, who are a couple, were "surprised" that Captain Sandy hired Tom. However, it made sense to viewers, because she is in a rough situation doing without a chef since Kiko from Below Deck Med left. The couple was appalled that Malia felt it was okay to rearrange the entire crew’s sleeping quarters saying, "this is why boats don’t hire couples." Paget made it clear that it is the couple’s job to "maintain a good image." Malia and Tom seemed to already have failed in that respect, by annoying two of their co-stars. It made another yachting industry couple look bad (and greedy) when that is not necessarily the case.
While most Bravo fans will agree that it was not a good look for Malia to pull a rank card, viewers still consider her one of the fan favorites. Monday’s new episode will show Hannah being let go from the ship and the yacht's crew scurrying around to figure out who will replace her. Our money is on Bugsy since she has worked as a chief stew before. Captain Sandy had no choice but to let her go since she had lost trust in their relationship.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Monday at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
