Every series in the Below Deck franchise has fired several crew over the years, but the reasons aren't always clear. Below Deck follows the work lives of crew on various types of yachts and all the drama that comes with the demanding industry. The close quarters and particular guests test every crew member and captain's limits. Often, crew don't fully understand how grueling the yachtie life can be since it seems like a fast way to make cash and live on a lavish ship for a season. While the crew gets ample downtime, there is always work to be done.

Since Below Deck season 1, hopeful crew have learned many things about life on a superyacht, but this hasn't stopped them from complaining about the number of tasks they are expected to do. This often leads to bad attitudes and poor work ethic that gets crew sent home early between charters. Below Deck is a reality show, so there is no shortage of drama. Even though fights among the crew keep the show entertaining, there are grounds for getting fired. While all of these crew were technically qualified to work on a yacht, they still neglected to meet their captain's standards and were ultimately terminated.

Camille Lamb - Bad Attitude & Poor Work Ethic

Camille Lamb was a deck/stew who helped the exterior and interior departments. However, with Captain Sandy Yawn taking over for Captain Lee Rosbach, Camille was put into the interior full-time. With this move, it quickly became apparent that Camille wasn't meshing with her superiors and wasn't in the mood to work. Camille was finally fired with even her crew mates considering her the worst crew member of the Below Deck franchise. After being asked to apologize and get along with everyone, Camille would pick fights in front of guests and other crew. Since her time on Below Deck, American Idol.

Kyle Dickard - Fighting

Crew on yachts only get a little space to themselves, and the close quarters make tensions run high. This was true for Kyle Dickard and Nathan Morley on Below Deck Adventure, as the two came to blows early in the season. Even though he was warned several times about lousy behavior, Kyle couldn't keep his actions in check. Kyle had the potential to be one of the best Below Deck deckhands, but he made the rest of the crew feel uncomfortable. Ultimately, Kyle was able to resign so his future employment wouldn't be as affected. However, with everything being caught on camera, there is little Kyle can deny in the future.

Raygan Tyler - Inexperienced

Sandy fires Raygan on Below Deck Med

Even though Captain Sandy is always happy to have another woman as a department lead on her ship, Raygan Tyler from Below Deck Mediterranean was not a good fit as a bosun. Despite trying her best, she needed more experience to carry out the responsibilities of her role, and her lack of knowledge caused a near crash. Raygan's firing was a hot topic, as some believed it was Captain Sandy's fault that Raygan was in the position in the first place. Raygan has one of the least dramatic firings, with Captain Sandy hoping to work together once she learns more.

Magda Ziomek - Too Distracted

Magda Ziomek from Below Deck Down Under was another stew that had the potential to grow but was distracted by factors outside the ship. She fought with her boyfriend throughout the season, which affected her service quality. Even though she was given several chances, Magda was asked to leave the boat. With her termination coming during the first season, Magda was the first firing of the series. Even though her firing was disappointing, the surrounding drama helped make Below Deck Down Under season 1 one of the best-ranked seasons of the Below Deck franchise.

Ryan McKeown - Unimpressed Guests

Chef Ryan from Below Deck Down Under

The Below Deck chefs have one of the most challenging jobs on the boat. Even when their preference sheets are followed, guests find something to complain about regarding their food. However, Chef Ryan McKeown's attitude and inability to meet the captain's standards landed him in a bad position. Chef Ryan was a good chef, but his food was not of 5-star quality. Ryan was rude to his crew , which slowed their service flow. Even though his bad attitude was a hindrance, Ryan's inability to change the food was the ultimate reason for his firing. It is also why he ranks low among the best Below Deck chefs.
