On the current season of Below Deck Down Under season 3. He's the Bosun of the ship, meaning he's in a position of leadership and runs the exterior deck crew consisting of Harry Van Vliet, Johnny Arvanitis, and Adair Werley.
Wihan's selfish attitude is not only adding more work for the rest of the crew, but it's also putting some of them in very uncomfortable positions.
Wihan’s Love Triangle Made Things Uncomfortable
Wihan Hooked Up With Several Women On The Crew
Wihan started off Below Deck Down Under season 3 with a bang by setting his romantic sights on Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and stew Marina Marcondes de Barros. After kissing Tzarina, Wihan accepted a date with Marina, whom he also kissed. Chief Stew Lara Rigby wasn't thrilled with Wihan's behavior, telling him he needed to leave her team alone since his romantic entanglements could cause issues with work.
Wihan decided he wasn't interested in Tzarina or Marina and broke up with both on the same night out. That didn't stop him from making out with Tzarina later on after he drunkenly stumbled upon her in the corridor. Lara was enraged since he was now leading Tzarina on, though Wihan claimed it was harmless.

Wihan doesn't seem to understand that by crossing professional boundaries with his crew, he's putting them in uncomfortable positions. Wihan selfishly doesn't care about that; he only cares about his desires. His actions are putting his career at risk, and I wouldn't be surprised if Captain Jason fired him before the season ends.
Wihan’s Team Doesn’t Respect Him
Deckhand Harry Is Picking Up The Slack
Throughout the season, Wihan's leadership abilities have been called into question. Wihan is too busy wooing all of the women to do his job properly, and the rest of the crew, particularly deckhand Harry, have noticed. Even Captain Jason Chambers had to take Wihan aside and warn him that he needed to discipline his crew because they were operating without any leadership.
Harry, in particular, often complained about Wihan's lack of leadership, pointing out that the exterior crew didn't have schedules, so they never knew who was supposed to be working when. At one point, Harry decries Wihan's lack of authority and preoccupation with women by saying, "This isn’t The Bachelor, it’s a yacht," making it clear the crew was there to work, not find romance. When Harry lets Captain Jason know about some of the issues with the exterior crew, Wihan angrily says Harry has no loyalty.

Below Deck Down Under Season 3 Is Having A Leadership Crisis (Is Captain Jason Chambers Losing Control Of His Team?)
Captain Jason Chambers struggles to unite his Below Deck Down Under crew as Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Bosun Wihan du Toit add to the season’s chaos.
After clashing with almost everyone on the crew, Wihan still acted like he had no idea what the problem was, despite having it spelled out for him. Wihan even dared to say, "Someone needs to take control," when being confronted by the others.
That someone would be you, Wihan.
Wihan and Harry continued to spar in the galley, with Harry asking if Wihan could simply write down all of their instructions and schedules so that communication is clear and there isn't room for misunderstandings. Wihan overreacted to Harry's request, and he said that their jobs "aren't rocket science." He's clearly perturbed to have his authority challenged, but Harry isn't the only one standing up to him.
While Tzarina tried to gently tell Wihan he needed to act like a leader, Lara was more direct. She bluntly told Wihan that he's lost control of his crew and they do not respect him.
Wihan stood there, dumbfounded, as Lara hit him with the truth.
He got defensive and acted like everyone else was the problem, not him.
Wihan Is Inappropriate With Adair
Wihan Is Her Boss
By far, Wihan's most egregious move was his pursuit of Adair, his direct report. After breaking up with Tzarina and Marina, Wihan decided he had feelings for Adair, the deckhand from Georgia. Since Wihan leads the deck team, Adair is his employee, making his moves on her even more inappropriate.

Below Deck Down Under’s Captain Jason Is Too Unserious This Season (I Think His Captain’s Lounge Gimmick Was A Misfire)
Below Deck Down Under's Captain Jason Chambers was on full display in the Captain's Lounge episode, but did his robe gimmick go too far?
After Wihan tells Adair, while they're working, that he has a crush on her, Adair handles it like most women would: She politely says she'd like to keep things professional. In a confessional, Adair rolled her eyes and said Wihan wasn't her type.
"Oh my god. Wihan and I are a great team, but he just doesn't really seem like my type of guy. I want my guy to have a nice southern accent and drive a big lifted truck. Do you think Wihan's gonna pull up and roll the window down in the lifted King Ranch? No. Wihan drives a Mini Cooper."
Still, now that Wihan's made his feelings for Adair public, it's now her burden to navigate her working relationship with him. Wihan made it even worse when he decided he needed to write Adair a love letter.
"Adair, while country music is playing in the background, clearly those beautiful green eyes and beautiful smile has taken over and all I'm thinking about is the next time I'm seeing you again... Adair, I know we are working together and spending a lot of time together. I want to keep it professional at all times, but I won't lie and say I don't have feelings for you."
While Adair concluded that the letter was "sweet," it still was not appropriate of Wihan to put her in that position. And even though in the next episode, Adair seemed more receptive to Wihan, his actions still put the entire crew at risk since he favored Adair, which compromised the crew. Most of them are there to work and make great tips, not to bother with "boatmances."
Wihan and Adair's relationship caused issues immediately, as Wihan chose to hang out with Adair and clean cabins during dinner service, where extra help was needed. Wihan and Adair were busy laughing and flirting and didn't respond to any of the radio calls from their fellow team. Harry picked up the slack, assisting with service and helping out with a fun game the crew planned for the guests. In my opinion, Harry is demonstrating the leadership skills that Wihan lacks.
If Wihan can't get his head out of the clouds long enough to lead his team, the crew will suffer, as will the guests. And if that happens, we know Captain Jason won't hesitate to make changes. When tips are in jeopardy, captains will make tough decisions that are ultimately for the benefit of everyone else aboard.
