If you're wondering how you can Respec and change your class in Baldur’s Gate 3, there is a way to do that. The game doesn't tell you outright how to do it, but you can do it for a small fee. Picking your character's class is the first important decision you will take. However, there might be a point where you might want to switch things for a different experience.
In order to respec your character and change class, you will need to recruit Withers in BG3. Withers are mysterious skeleton NPCs that offer services at the camp. One of these services includes the ability to resurrect dead companions and respec your character. Withers can also let you recruit hirelings. The Wither will charge you Gold for these services and can be recruited early in the game.
How To Recruit Withers In Baldur’s Gate 3
Once you leave the Nautiloid ship in Act 1, you explore the vast area to recruit a few of Baldur’s Gate 3’s companions and form a party. There are some Overgrown Ruins near the beach where you wake and it has a locked door. You can pick this lock; however, using Thieves’ Tools is recommended since it has a surprisingly challenging skill check.

How To Change Your Appearance In Baldur's Gate 3
You can now change your character’s appearance in Baldur’s Gate 3. Here’s what you can alter and what is off the table when using the Magic Mirror.
Players who manage to pick the lock will find themselves inside a tomb. Be extremely careful, as there are many traps that can easily wipe out a fledgling party if triggered together.
You can also enter the ruin from the Chapel Entrance (285, 325). The entrance is right up the hill northwest of the beach door. However, you will need to take a gang of treasure hunters first, as they have claimed this region. You either persuade, intimidate, kill, or trick them into leaving. Directly north of the Chapel Entrance is a door the party can use to enter the ruin.
Alternatively, there’s also a Wooden Hatch found on a small coastal path that runs to the right of the Chapel.
Once inside the ruin, defeat the remaining bandits, including the ones in the hallway outside the first room and the Refectory chamber with the statue. Inside the refectory, there’s a statue with a button on the back wall that will unlock the door in the hallway outside. This leads to the Dank Crypt.
Inside the Dank Crypt, head north through the big oak doors to find a large chamber. There’s a secret chamber to the left of the statue that can be opened with a button. This will start a combat encounter with some skeletons. Once they’re defeated, check the Richly Adorned Sarcophagus inside to find Withers.
Players can also find and read the Necromancy of Thay in one of the side rooms of the Dank Crypt.
How To Respec And Change Class With Withers In Baldur’s Gate 3
You will now be able to respec or change your character's class by talking with the Withers at camp. Select the “Can you help me change my class?” dialogue option to initiate the process. You will soon be in the character creator menu, where you will be able to tweak your abilities and class.
Respecing or changing your character's class will reset your level back to 1. But if you still have XP, you can level up again with new abilities.
Withers will charge a fee of 100g, which isn’t actually very much in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. Notably, it’s also possible for companions to respec and change class, allowing you to shape your band of adventurers exactly how you want.
