A new trailer has been released for Babygirl features a leading cast including Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, Esther McGregor, and Vaughn Reilly. The film is directed by Halina Reijn and set for release on Christmas, December 25.

Now, A24 has released a new trailer for Babygirl. The trailer opens by showing an encounter between Romy and Samuel, as they stand uncomfortably in an elevator together. As the thrilling clip roars forward, Romy's family life is established as she takes Christmas photos with her husband and daughter. As the Babygirl trailer continues, dialogue includes lines like "being a CEO means being a nurturer" and other thematically appropriate moments, such as when Samuel says "it's about giving and taking power."

What This Means For Babygirl

This Trailer Well Establishes Babygirl As A Thriller

This Babygirl trailer is similar to the previous glimpses of the film in that it devolves into a more erotic energy over the course of its two minutes. Whereas the first trailer unveils its chaos more subtly, however, this Babygirl trailer throws audiences right into the film's central tension. Fairly immediately, Romy's friction between family and work life is on display, and the fact that she is hiding something from her husband is hinted at.

If Babygirl is able to maintain this kind of energy throughout the film, it will make for a fascinating ride. The film has, after all, been described as an erotic thriller. This second trailer puts the movie's thriller energy on full display while giving a hint at the eroticism. The balance between the two will be hard to pull off, but with an actor with as much gravitas as Kidman and an emerging star like Dickinson in the lead roles, Babygirl may just do it.

Our Take On The Babygirl Trailer

Babygirl's Release Date Is Fascinating

While this Babygirl trailer is not as overt about it as the first installment, the A24 movie, like its release date, is set on Christmas. This makes the A24 film perfectly suited for Christmas release, but given its erotic themes, it will also be fascinating to see how audiences take to this particular kind of holiday film. Babygirl has a lot of competition on this release date, including Nosferatu and A Complete Unknown, so it will be interesting to see how the movie stands out against its competitors.
