Industry Focus

Pierce nearly always writes about movies, with a particular emphasis on genre films. Being well-versed in cinematic history, he likes to find parallels between seemingly unrelated works, such as Starship Troopers (the novel) being highly influential on James Cameron's Aliens, which in turn had a huge impact on the former's big screen adaptation.

Pierce's favorite movies include (but are not limited to) the original Star Wars trilogy, The Lord of the Rings, The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Se7en, and Deliverance. Some of his favorites of the past few years include Soul, The Suicide Squad, The Northman, and Top Gun: Maverick.
