Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons are plentiful and extend beyond the reach of the Hidden Blade. The Hidden Blade is, of course, the signature weapon of the Order of Assassins, designed for stealthy assassination. The wrist-mounted blade is known for being quickly retractable and, thus, very concealable. This iconic weapon gained an impressive reputation since its debut in 2007 in the original Assassin’s Creed, and has since been used in every main title, except Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Despite its popularity, some of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons have no connection whatsoever to the Hidden Blade, and are used even more frequently by the characters that players control. An example is Assassin’s Creed 3’s Connor Kenway and his tomahawk; in the game that came out after Ezio’s saga, Connor’s main weapon was not the Hidden Blade, and that left a very positive mark on the franchise.

Connor’s Tomahawk Is One Of The Coolest Weapons In Assassin’s Creed

Assassin's Creed's Connor Kenway runs through explosions on the battlefield wielding his signature tomahawk and Hidden Blade.

As a matter of fact, Connor’s Assassin Tomahawk is one of the coolest weapons in Assassin’s Creed history. The small axe, combined with Connor’s highly marketed guerrilla combat, granted players some of the best fighting and assassination animations. Not only is it grand when it comes to combat but its simple yet unique design is remarkable. Imprinted like the classic Assassins’ logo, it is a stylish option to be seen in-game, under any circumstance.

Dracula’s Sword In AC Revelations Honors Vlad, The Impaler

Assassin's Creed Revelations' Ezio wielding the Vlad Tepes' Sword under the full moon, amidst an abandoned village.

Another of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons was held by Assassin’s Creed’s: Revelations’ cape-wearing Ezio. Vlad Tepes’ Sword was, originally, the sword of the leader of Wallachia himself. Due to his ruthlessness, he became known as Vlad, the Impaler, and in fiction and popular culture, the vampire lord Dracula. Though locked by pre-orders or a DLC acquisition, Ezio could acquire the weapon, which had a unique and brutal moveset that no other sword could ever match. Its design is also very distinct, and it has a menacing look to it that lives up to its original owner’s sinister reputation.

Bombs Rocked Constantinople To Its Core In Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Assassin's Creed Revelations's Ezio plants a bomb at night to eventually attack two guards who are strolling and talking in the distance.

Still in Revelations’ Constantinople, another weapon marked Ezio’s story in Assassin’s Creed: bombs. Despite not being the most adored weapon among the franchise’s fans, it is one of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest. With it, players could craft and customize the effect of different bombs for different occasions. A total of 10 bomb types could be produced in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations; the Splinter Bomb was a lethal one used for killing opponents in its radius, while the Cherry Bomb was usually used as a distraction due to the loud noise it produced. When combined with all the possible approaches Ezio could have to assassination or subterfuge, bombs were one of his most reliable tools.

Dagger Of Brutus Lived Up To Its Reputation In AC Brotherhood

Taking an extra step back in history, one of Ezio’s tricks in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was being in the possession of the Dagger of Brutus. This weapon is said to have been used by Brutus himself to assassinate the Roman dictator Julius Caesar. Much like Revelations’ Vlad Tepes’ Sword, the Dagger of Brutus had a unique animation moveset, which embodied Brutus’ brutality. As a very heavy weapon, Ezio used that in his favor to fiercely stab and slice his enemies in Renaissance-era Rome. The Dagger of Brutus’ design was also unique, being a very wide-bodied dagger that stood apart from any other that the Italian Hidden One held, easily making it one of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons.

Pistol Swords Were A Signature Move Of Edward Kenway’s In Black Flag

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Edward Kenway wielding two swords, surrounded by four other pirates on a ship's deck.

Undeniably some of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons were Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s pistols combined with swords: the renowned Pistol Swords. The set of dual swords was obtainable only after completing all assassinations, which means this is an endgame weapon. Like the Dagger of Brutus and the Vlad Tepes’ Sword, it has a unique animation moveset, and it is visually appealing. Amidst slicing foes, Edward Kenway would finish them off with the swords’ pistol shots. One of the best execution animations in the game is impaling opponents and actually shooting them off the sword with the attached pistols.

Poisonous Kills Are Guaranteed In AC Odyssey With Arachne’s Stingers

Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Arachne's Stingers wielded by Kassandra.

Before the foundation of the Order of Assassins in Assassin’s Creed, misthios Kassandra was already cutting the ranks of the Order of Ancients in the Mediterranean. One of the coolest Assassin’s Creed weapons she could use to do so was the pair of blades called Arachne’s Stingers. Though they are not the strongest weapons in Odyssey, they are poisonous. This means she could finish off her opponents by stabbing or cutting them and then awaiting their doom. Besides that, their designs are appropriately mythical and embody the poisonous nature of Arachne.

Odyssey's Poseidon’s Trident Mixed Atlantean Design With Underwater Survivability

Another of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons was also in possession of Kassandra. The legendary warrior obtained that which belonged to one of Assassin’s Creed’s many Isu, Poseidon. Like Arachne’s Stingers, Poseidon’s Trident is also not one of Odyssey’s strongest weapons, but it has a unique property that sets it apart from all else: it grants the the ability to swim underwater without ever running out of air. When this is considered along with its divine design, Poseidon’s Trident is truly one of the best obtainable weapons in the game.

Thor’s Hammer Can Be Wielded By A Worthy Eivor In AC Valhalla

An electrically imbued Mjolnir lies upon a rock in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Moving North into Scandinavia, players could grab one of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons and one of the most well-known hammers in history. Eivor can obtain Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. With an iconic look and an ability that can stun opponents, Mjolnir is not exactly as electrifying as one would expect. However, making the reincarnation of Odin walk around with his son’s hammer makes for something of a legend.

Anubis Seeks To Rule Once More With The Was Scepter In AC Origins

Assassin's Creed Origins' Bayek wearing the Dark Side of the Moon Anubis armor set and wielding the Was Scepter.

In Egypt, one of the founders of the Hidden Ones, Bayek, could come into possession of a unique and wonderfully crafted weapon called the Was Scepter. This, one of Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons, was represented by a lovely staff and, at its end, the head of a jackal, representing the god Anubis. With a remarkable design, it becomes all the better when paired with any one of Assassin’s Creed Origins’ best outfits from the Anubis set. When used together, it seems like Bayek is the walking avatar of Anubis on Earth.

With an extensive list of assassination tools, Assassin’s Creed’s coolest weapons are many. The Isu-forged weapons from Odyssey and the iconic Excalibur from Valhalla are perfect examples of some of the franchise’s best weapons. The Werewolf Pack-locked Moon Scythe, for instance, is another weapon worth mentioning. It is clear there is no shortage of great and cool weapons in Assassin’s Creed beyond the Hidden Blade.
