The little-known cousin of Jughead Jones is coming back in a horrifying, new one-shot from at Archie Horror's terrifying revival of Bingo Wilkin.

The Archie Horror imprint has previously announced that it would be bringing back Woodrow 'Bingo' Wilkin, the main character of iArchie Comics' classic series, That Wilkin Boy. The new one-shot, Chilling Adventures Presents...The Cult of That Wilkin Boy comes from Cullen Bunn (The Sixth Gun, Harrow County) and Dan Schoening (Ghostbusters, Back to the Future). The comic sees Bingo on top of the world as a famous musician and explores the price he had to pay to get there. Cullen Bunn says of the one-shot:

"Let's say you're desperate to fulfill your dreams. Let's say you'd do anything to make your dreams happen. Only, those dreams have an expiration date, and when time runs out, you're looking at--literally--Hell. That's where Bingo is in our story here. He sees the writing on the wall. His time is up. And it's driving him to the edge of madness."

Screen Rant has also been provided with a sneak peek at the story. Right before a concert, Bingo is approached by a shadowy-looking figure who reminds him of the contract he signed. The seven years of fame and fortune that Bingo exchanged his immortal soul for are nearly up, and the mysterious figure intends on collecting. Bingo goes into a panic, canceling his concert and sending his fans into a rage. But disturbing visions plague Bingo, hinting his troubles are just beginning.

Archie Horror Gives an Old Property a Terrifying Makeover

Archie Comics is one of the oldest publishers in the game. And while the brand is most known for Archie Andrews and his cast of All-American teens, the publisher has plenty of other iconic comic book characters like the teenage witch Sabrina, or the rocking band Josie and the Pussycats. But in recent years, Archie Comics has been giving love to some of its more obscure characters, mostly through its more mature Archie Horror imprint that reinvents its stars in tales of suspense, murder, and mayhem.

When it comes to deep cuts in the Archie brand, Bingo Wilkin is fairly unknown. His biggest claim to fame is that he's the cousin of the more popular Archie Comics' character, Jughead Jones. While he's appeared sporadically in Archie titles over the years, it's been some time since Bingo's had the spotlight to himself. But Chilling Adventures Presents...The Cult of That Wilkin Boy looks to rectify that by making him the central character of a classic horror story in the vein of Faust.

Jughead's Cousin Has Made a Deal with the Devil

The idea of selling one's soul in exchange for power, riches, or talent is a tale as old as time, and one that's been the premise of several great horror stories. Bingo may be a musician like Josie and her friends, but he's never reached the level of fame they have. He's pretty much unknown except to hardcore Archie fans. But that makes Bingo the perfect subject for a story like this. Who else but a character largely forgotten to the world would be willing to give up everything for a shot at fame? Bingo might not be the most well-known Archie character, but this one-shot could give him the attention he's always wanted. Readers can see what becomes of the Archie character in Chilling Adventures Presents...The Cult of That Wilkin Boy, on sale April 19th.
