Arcane characters have only just started their journeys.
There's still a lot of work to do before any spinoffs are released, but fans haven't forgotten the explosive conclusion of season 2, or the promise of future Arcane spinoffs within the story's world, especially about how season 2 set up Vi and Cait's life together. During a conversation with Variety and some fans at Alhambra's Gallery Nucleaus, showrunner Christian Linke was asked about continuing Vi and Cait's story, and had this to say:
Well, that’s a tough one. I have to say no comment, because … you never know. That’s a shitty answer, but it’s in your favor.
What This Means For A Potential Cait & Vi Spinoff
The Characters Still Have A Lot Of Growing To Do
The time spent on crafting the romance between Vi and Cait makes it clear that this character dynamic is valued by the writers and creators. While the creative team can't confirm or deny any possible spinoff storylines at this point in development, it might be a good thing that Linke didn't comment on Vi and Cait's future. His comments leave the door open for the pair to return to screens. Arcane didn't shy away from giving many characters tragic endings to their stories. Though Vi and Cait lost a lot, they're still alive and looking toward the future.
Overton also speculated about what a Vi and Cait spinoff would look like, since both characters have come so far and have changed since the series' premiere. The writer itted that both women still have a lot of growing up to do, since the characters in Arcane are so young, despite their harrowing backstories. Arcane season 2 provided a good Vi and Cait payoff, satisfying viewers and critics. Both characters were pushed to their limits, and the show's creators are aware of how well this could translate to a spinoff.

Vi & Cait Would Instantly Bring Us Back To The World Of Arcane
Critics, fans, and seasoned fantasy writers have cited as a show that needs more seasons, but it's clear by the end of Arcane that Vi and Jinx's (Ella Purnell) arc is finished. The sisters' emotional journey was the thrust of Arcane, but the writers didn't shy away from developing the other characters and their trajectory alongside the protagonists. This is why Cait became such a critical piece of Vi's life and one of the characters we were rooting for in the Arcane series finale. Any spinoff must at least hint at where Vi and Cait end up.
Arcane Season 2 Ending Explained: The Fate Of Piltover & All Spinoff Setup
Arcane season 2 culminated with an epic finale filled with mysteries, answers, battles, sacrifice, war, and the set-up for several future stories.
If we never find out what happens to these women in the wake of Arcane's ending, this would undermine the nuance of their love story. Additionally, it would be disappointing for those who had been rooting for them since the beginning. Arcane sets up many potential spinoffs, but an expansion of Vi and Cait's relationship is one of the most intriguing. Arcane has effectively created an opening to continue exploring how Vi and Cait will help guide Piltover into the next phase of the city's development.
