Warning! Contains spoilers for Venom War: Spider-Man #1!Venom has just encountered a symbiote beast so horrifying, even Knull the King in Black was afraid of it. There are tons of powerful and dangerous beings in the Marvel Universe, from Galactus to the Black Winter. One of the most dangerous is the original King in Black, Knull. As the creator of all symbiotes, it's hard to imagine that there's anything Knull would fear, but there is one symbiote that even Knull couldn't beat.

A terrifying new form of symbiote is revealed in the pages of Venom War: Spider-Man #1 by writers Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and artist Greg Land. In this story, after Spider-Man and the Venom symbiote fight off dozens of people forced to dress up as Hobgoblin, a horrifying new enemy is revealed. A mysterious man at Alchemax ends up unleashing the terrifying creature know as the Arachniote.

The Arachniote Reveals Itself

Spider-Man has no idea what the Arachniote is, but the Venom symbiote does. The Venom symbiote immediately recognizes the Arachniote as a Klyntar legend, saying that the Arachniote can consume everything it encounters and that even Knull feared it.

Venom Symbiote Explains The Arachiote

Given their immense power, symbiote are highly coveted among some of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe, such as Carnage. All symbiotes came from the King in Black Knull, who created them so he could wage war on the light of the universe. Since Knull created them, he had complete and utter control over all of them, even managing to corrupt and control Venom for a period. It's hard to imagine there being a single symbiote in the universe that Knull would actually be afraid of, but it seems that Marvel just revealed exactly that with the Arachniote.

Knull either created a being so powerful that he himself couldn't control it, or he created a symbiote whose power eventually outpaced his own.

It's unclear exactly where the Arachniote came from or how Alchemax gained control of it, but the Venom symbiote clearly knows what the Arachniote is, even calling it out as a legend among the Klyntar (another name for the symbiotes). It seems that Knull either created a being so powerful that he himself couldn't control it, or he created a symbiote whose power eventually outpaced his own. The Venom symbiote calls out the Arachniote as being capable of destroying any mind it touches. If that includes the capacity to destroy even the mind of Knull, that would make this creature the most dangerous symbiote to ever exist.

Not Even Knull Could Beat The Arachniote

Spider-Man and Venom have both fought tons of different symbiotes over the decades, but the Arachniote is unlike anything they've ever faced before and seems to have power that absolutely dwarfs even the biggest threats. While Venom was able to defeat Knull, that was only due to having the Enigma Force at the time. With Spider-Man and Venom not having access to that, they may just have to bond if they want to stand any chance against this new threat that even Knull the King in Black feared.

HISTORY
The Venom symbiote is an alien organism that first bonded with Peter Parker (Spider-Man) during the "Secret Wars" storyline. After Parker rejected the symbiote, it found a new host in Eddie Brock, a disgraced journalist. The symbiote and Brock bonded over their mutual hatred for Spider-Man, becoming the anti-hero known as Venom. Over time, Venom has evolved from a villain to an anti-hero, often fighting alongside other heroes to protect innocents, though his methods remain brutal.

Venom is a symbiotic alien entity bonded with various human hosts, notably Eddie Brock and later Flash Thompson. It grants superhuman strength, agility, and a shape-shifting black costume. Initially a Spider-Man villain due to its origins, Venom evolved into an antihero, battling both villains and his own dark impulses. The character embodies themes of duality and redemption within the Marvel Universe.
