Sam Wilson is currently serving as Captain America in Jed MacKay’s The Avengers run, which follows the Sentinel of Liberty as he fights alongside Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, and Storm to protect Earth from the new Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Doom, who has completely taken over and is ruling the world with an iron fist.

Now, the artist behind the design has shared a full breakdown of the suit and its details on his Instagram, giving fans even more to rave about.

While Schiti’s cover for The Avengers #26 was impeccable, showcasing a suit that was beyond epic, his Instagram post will undoubtedly give fans an even greater appreciation for the design. The post offers an ultra-detailed front and back look at Cap’s Plastoid armor, along with close-ups of various unique features, including the arm sleeve, visor, and wings. The suit features the characteristic blue, red, and white color scheme, enhanced by a matte gun-metal grey on the lower half. The close-up of the visor and its different modes is particularly noteworthy, with settings for fight/flight, as well as a full-face visor for no-air environments or when traveling at hyperspeed.

Other details revealed through Schiti’s Instagram include a close-up of how the suit’s arm technology functions, with the armor extending to encom Sam’s hands. Schiti also made notes about this design element, writing, “Under stress, the technology beneath became slightly visible. Movement could leave a trail of red light.” The suit is also clearly a tribute to Sam Wilson’s former identity as the Falcon, as it includes massive wings that extend from the back of the costume, much like those he previously wore. His boots also feature a bird-like, talon-inspired design that further nods to his bird-themed legacy.
