Apart from unfolding a gripping prequel story to Apartment 7A also features compelling songs as background scores that add even more heft to its drama. Releasing over five decades after Rosemary's Baby's 1968 premiere, Apartment 7A sets out to resolve some underlying mysteries and questions the original movie left behind. Given how Rosemary's Baby is still considered one of the most influential horror movies of all time, Apartment 7A carries the burden of living up to its predecessor while etching its own identity in the horror genre.

Although Apartment 7A fails to step out of its predecessor's shadow, it does a satisfying job of expanding the parent film's lore. It may not be as disturbing and scary as the 1968 movie, but it still manages to pack enough chills, thrills, and intriguing creative choices that make it memorable. During many pivotal moments, Apartment 7A also almost presents itself as a musical, featuring upbeat background scores and dance sequences. “Für Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven: Beethoven's classic track can be heard in Apartment 7A when Terry visits Alan's home and opens up to him about how she has been struggling to find new opportunities since her injury.

“Heart” by Peggy Lee: Terry does not tread carefully as Alan drugs her to initiate the coven's satanic ritual. While she attempts to get herself out of the room, Peggy Lee's "Heart" loudly plays in the background.

“Jingle Bells” by APM: This song plays around the 40-minute mark in Apartment 7A when Terry practices her steps with her new dance team. The track continues to play as Terry attends a costume party with her friend, Annie, at the Castevets' place.

“If My Friends Could See Me Now” by Cast: After attending the party, Terry thanks Annie for ing her when no one else did, and the two celebrate while singing this tune. To show her how much she appreciates her , Terry also gives Annie a gift.

“Be My Baby” by The Ronettes: This song plays twice in the Apartment 7A's ending moments when Terry gives a final dance performance in the Castevets' home before leaping off a window and dying.
