The Marvels mystery. This could be done through a theory relating to Harper's character. While many thought William Jackson Harper could be playing Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic due to longstanding fan castings, Disney's official website lists his character as Quaz.
This has spawned a different kind of theory online, with many exploring the possibility that Quaz is short for Quasar and that Marvel will introduce the Cosmic Avenger in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This would mean that, while Ant-Man 3 will not be introducing William Jackson Harper as Reed Richards, he could be just as important to the Multiverse Saga in the future. This importance is linked to the Marvel Comics version of Quasar and how these comic elements could potentially connect to a Shang-Chi and The Marvels mystery if Harper's Quaz does turn out to be the Cosmic Avenger himself.
William Jackson Harper Playing Quasar Could Lead To MCU Quantum Bands
If Quaz ends up being Quasar in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the MCU would likely introduce the character's iconic weapons: the Quantum Bands. In Marvel Comics, the Quantum Bands are powerful weapons imbued upon the Protectors of the Universe by the Cosmic Being Eon. Wendell Vaughn/Quasar was one of those beings. The Quantum Bands allow the wearer to manipulate Quantum Energy to various formidable effects.
While the Quantum Bands are more cosmic based in Marvel Comics, it would make perfect sense to have their first appearance in the MCU be tied to Ant-Man's Quantum Realm. The Quantum Realm would undoubtedly offer a wielder of the Quantum Bands a great deal of power. If the rumors of Harper's character leading a resistance against Kang's rule in the Quantum Realm are to be believed, the Quantum Bands would explain how he was able to resist the Conqueror for so long.
Also, the MCU has established characters in the Quantum Realm who did not originate there, such as Kang and Janet for example. This could mean that Quaz could have obtained the Quantum Bands from outer space, which helps the links to The Marvels, before being somehow sent into the Quantum Realm. This is only the beginning of how the links to Shang-Chi and The Marvels could come about should this character theory turn out to be true.
How Shang-Chi And Ms. Marvel Could Link To The Quantum Bands
In of The Marvels, a prevailing theory surrounding Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel's mysterious bracelet is that it is the MCU's version of a Nega-Band. Nega-Bands in the comics are highly powerful Kree artifacts that allow their s immense power, which could also explain the link to Captain Marvel as Carol was raised on the Kree homeworld. In the comics, Quantum Bands are believed to be prototypes for Nega-Bands, which provide the potential connection between Quaz and Kamala. As the MCU is known to take creative liberties with the respective comic stories, Nega-Bands and Quantum Bands could be made one and the same for the film universe.
This would then mean that a character tied to Kang, the Quantum Realm, and Ant-Man - meaning he would have big implications going forward if Quaz is Quasar - would be linked to another important Multiverse Saga story in The Marvels. Furthermore, the scene in Ms. Marvel shows the titular character's bangle being found on a blue-skinned body, with the Kree having blue skin in the MCU. This further s the bangle being connected to the MCU's version of Nega-Bands/Quantum Bands and could tie to Shang-Chi through this.
The scene in Ms. Marvel in which the bangle is found is also shown to be in a Ten Rings temple. This could mean that the MCU takes further liberties in that the Ten Rings weapons are also different variations of Quantum Bands in the MCU. This could have big implications for Ant-Man 3 through Shang-Chi's post-credit scene - also linking to Captain Marvel - in which the Ten Rings were sending a beacon to an unknown location.
How The Quantum Bands Could Be Used In Ant-Man 3
If this theory plays out, with William Jackson Harper playing Quasar, Ant-Man 3 could be about Kang manipulating Scott into stealing Quaz's Quantum Bands. As it is heavily rumored that Kang is stuck in the Quantum Realm, it would make sense for Quaz to be, also. Ant-Man 3 could then tie to Shang-Chi by explaining that the Ten Rings' signal is being sent to other versions of the Quantum Bands. Through this connection, Quaz might be able to escape the Quantum Realm.
This would explain why Kang is sending Scott to steal the Quantum Bands, as it is clear the Conqueror wants to escape. This would tie together three lingering plot points of the MCU. It is clear from the other hints in each property, such as the Ten Rings symbol in Ms. Marvel, the obvious connections between Kamala and Carol, and Carol's appearance in the Shang-Chi post-credit scene, that all three characters will be linked going forward. If this theory is correct and William Jackson Harper does turn out to be playing the MCU's Quasar complete with Quantum Bands, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania could tie together these Phase 4 mysteries.
