The Marvel Cinematic Universe is finally delivering on Michelle Pfeiffer's Wasp casting thanks to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The news that Michelle Pfeiffer was ing the MCU for Ant-Man and the Wasp created plenty of excitement thanks to her casting as Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp in the comics. It promised a superhero movie return for Batman Returns' Catwoman actress and a chance for the MCU to answer the mystery of what happened to Hope's mother. However, Ant-Man and the Wasp left many feeling unfulfilled with Michelle Pfeiffer's role thanks to the surprisingly small role.

The search for Janet van Dyne did loom over the entirety of Ant-Man and the Wasp, but Michelle Pfeiffer only managed to appear in a few scenes. This included a flashback to an early Ant-Man and Wasp adventure with her and Hank, but she otherwise does not appear until the movie's ending. This led to the feeling that the MCU wasted Michelle Pfeiffer's debut. That has left Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to make better use of Janet van Dyne and give Pfeiffer a larger part that is more worthy of her talents. Based on the movie's marketing, that certainly appears to be the case.

Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet Has An Important Role In Ant-Man 3

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailers have really put Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet at the forefront of the movie. She will not ultimately play as big of a role as Scott Lang or even Hope van Dyne potentially, but Marvel is making it clear that the threequel is not repeating Ant-Man and the Wasp's mistake. Michelle Pfeiffer looks to have a very important role in the movie, as Janet is the one who seems to know about the danger that Kang poses in Quantum Realm. This also appears to include Janet van Dyne being in charge of her group and leading herself, Hank, and Hope to find Scott and Cassie.

It is no surprise that Janet van Dyne has an important role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. She spent decades inside the Quantum Realm trying to survive, so her stepping into a leadership role within the group makes sense. This should give Michelle Pfeiffer plenty of screentime as Janet's old home is explored, allowing her to introduce other characters and viewers to the mysteries of the Quantum Realm. Ant-Man 3 can even take this a step further and explain Janet's Quantum powers that were briefly teased in Ant-Man and the Wasp. This could then help her play a pivotal role in defeating Kang.

Michelle Pfeiffer's better role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to include some key reveals about how Janet van Dyne is connected to Kang. Janet's knowledge of the multiversal threat could simply come from her experience in the Quantum Realm and a fear that all inhabitants have of him. Of course, the MCU could take this a step forward and reveal that Janet and Kang did meet during their respective time spent in the Quantum Realm.

Theories suggest Janet worked for Kang in the past before learning about his true intentions, which would mean that she might have betrayed him in the past. Ant-Man 3 could take the connection a step further too. It is possible that Janet played a role in helping grow Kang's empire in the Quantum Realm. Working with a villain as powerful as Kang might even help explain how Janet developed her powers. As a result, Janet van Dyne's connection to Kang could be very important for Michelle Pfeiffer's role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
