It's that time of year again when love is in the air, and Animal Crossing New: Horizons is adding Valentine's Day-themed items that make for the perfect virtual gifts. Whether players are socially distancing from their loved ones, or are in a long-distance relationship, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will allow players to display their affection for one another this Valentine's Day.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is coming up on its one year anniversary, and has recently released a substantial update to celebrate the new year. This update added a new Mr. Resetti, was finally added to the game in the form of a purchasable figurine.
However, the update also added romantic items in preparation for Valentine's Day. Nintendo announced via Twitter that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have special Valentine's-themed chocolates and flowers that can be purchased via Nook Shopping for a short period of time. The Heart-shaped bouquet and Chocolate heart will be available from February 2nd until the 14th. Each item will cost the player 1,200 bells and will take a day to arrive, so make sure to order them before the 14th.
These romantic items may seem silly to some, but Animal Crossing: New Horizons has created successful relationships in the past. Most notably, two Animal Crossing fans who met through New Horizons are now engaged to be married. Two strangers who met online via Animal Crossing: New Horizons formed a close friendship over the course of several months, and it all started with a simple interaction. Now, Animal Crossing is equipping players with the proper items to display their affection, even if it is just a few pixels on a digital island.
Fans should that Valentine's Day is on February 14th, which is also the last day the gifts will be available. Since they do take a day to be delivered, players will want to order them on the 13th (or they can always time travel). There will likely be some kind of Valentine's Day event as well, and possibly other holiday items that players can find or craft. But Animal Crossing is already offering some easily obtainable items for those who are feeling a little bit lonely on their deserted island.
