No game from 2020 is quite like Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Not only did it manage to satisfy old fans of the franchise, but it drew in new fans with its calming aesthetic and cute characters. The game serves as an escape from the real world as well as a mirror, with seasons appearing in the game as the time comes in real life.
As winter quickly arrives, many players have taken the opportunity to design their villages to look like winter wonderlands, and have also shared their designs on Twitter. From colorful roads to dim, snowy lands, these players' villages are all distinct, while they also embody the feeling of winter.
Foggy Winter
Foggy weather can provide a special kind of aesthetic, not only in the real world but also in Animal Crossing. The misty air almost looks like a grey filter over villages, including this one by Joe Animelli.
In Joe's village, fog covers the artistic statues placed across the island, all of which are surrounded by the fresh snow. With an island as atmospheric as this one, it'd be hard to get pulled away from the view.
Pink Winter
On many islands, picking one color for a theme and sticking with it can go a long way, since it makes the whole island look unified. A good example of this is the village by @ChishiMalata, who chose a pink aesthetic for her island.
On this island, there are pink flowers, pink pillows, pink benches. There are even pink clothes for Chishi and her teddy bear. Along with the snow, the pink and white combination makes for a truly magnificent village.
A Winter View
The views in Animal Crossing are often sights to behold, especially at certain times of the day. A sunset could lead to a beautiful pink-orange sky, while the night could have stars scattered across a deep blue sky. No matter what time of day players are watching the sky, the view can only get better in the winter.

Sometimes, the most relaxing thing players can do in Animal Crossing is to simply sit and ire the hard work they put forward in making their villages. Now, with snow falling on villages, many players' islands are getting enhanced by the winter season, including @pinkcrosser, or Courtney.
In Courtney's village, there's a pattern of pink and white flowers, all surrounding a water fountain to make the village look like a garden. After meticulously deg a village for so long, it's nice to be able to sit back and let winter's snow help with the design.
Celeste's Winter
A hallmark of the holiday season is all of the extravagant lights that are put on display. Seeing all the bright colors brings feelings of warmth and joy that can bring anyone together. Celeste appreciates the lights, too, as shown in @nutmeg_isle's village.
In this village, colorful reindeer-shaped lights decorate the land with snow, flowers, and waterfalls, all with Celeste being dazzled by the view. Now that the island has snow and bright lights, Celeste is finally ready to celebrate the holidays.
Tea Time With Marshal
Players never have to feel lonely when they walk around their villages because there are always other villagers for them to talk to. One of these other villagers is Marshal, who can be found on @minsuuuuuya's village.
In this village, Marshal is enjoying a nice cup of tea and is surrounded by balloons, desserts, and relaxation.
Welcome, Poppy
Another popular village in the Animal Crossing series is Poppy, a cute squirrel with a bright red nose. Poppy recently arrived at @sleepyluck's village, which looks like a match that was made in heaven.
On this village, the roses, presents, bridges, and roads all have a red color scheme. With the snow scattered across everything, the whole island has a red-and-white scheme that matches Poppy's colors perfectly. With all of the colors and snow, it surely won't take long for Poppy to get adjusted to her new home.
A Rosy Sunset
Certain times of the day can make villages especially pop out. The sunset can create a beautiful aesthetic for many villages, as it creates a soft orange that blends well with the colors of the island. One village that truly benefits from the sunset is one by @imxCik45lLU2i.
In this village, trees topped with pink flowers and leaves are at the forefront, with fresh snow beneath them. This is all accompanied by the sunset, which only adds to the cozy atmosphere.
A Cozy Christmas
A nice interior can be just the thing to tie a player's whole village together. It's like the cherry on top; a good interior can turn an already great village into an even better one. Many players have gone above and beyond in decorating their homes for the holidays, including @nox_cturnal.
This home seems to be ready for Christmas since there are Christmas trees, presents, snow globes, and other decorations to make the house look cozy and comfortable. Now that the interior is decorated for the winter, the entire village is ready for the holidays.
