The recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update brought some items from the Mushroom Kingdom to the game. The Mario crossover added decorative items, such as the coin block and mushroom, but also some useable items like the warp pipe. The community got right to work creating all manner of builds utilizing these pipes, and here are a few of the most creative.
The Warp Pipe in Animal Crossing works much like its Mario counterpart. Entering a pipe will teleport a player out of a different one. Warp Pipes can be purchased from Tom Nook for 5,000 bells, a relatively cheap price for how much they can change up New Horizons' gameplay. More information on how to use warp pipes in Animal Crossing is available, but they are a fairly simple item - simple items that these players took to the next level.
The Mario warp pipes in Animal Crossing" New Horizons are obviously meant to be used as a mode of transportation, but using them to move visitors from the airport to other locations on the island is still a smart idea.
Animal Crossing Warp Pipes For Quick Transport
Redditor KingDededeThe3rd posted a build that quickly gets Animal Crossing visitors from the dock to Audie's house using pipes - but it can be adapted to send tourists anywhere. The addition of the ropes around the Mario pipe area is clever as well, as it prevents New Horizons' visitors from wandering into places they shouldn't. It's a good anti-griefing measure.
Animal Crossing Subways Created With Warp Pipes
Taking the transport idea to the fullest, several s have posted their functioning subway and/or bus stop builds in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Chikachuuu's build is wonderfully complete. Their use of multiple levels, guard railings, and maps make their subway entrances feel real.
Animal Crossing Hidden Areas With Warp Pipes
Chiefsfan_713_08 went above and beyond with the detailing in their Warp Pipe Animal Crossing build. The open-manhole motif is perfectly executed, as is the beyond-disgusting sewer zone.
The free-range roaches are a nice touch, and the giant glowing mushroom really ties it all together. Just goes to show that even something gross can be beautiful in its own way. It's also a great example of using the Mario pipes to build secret areas in Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing Warp Pipes Used For Gambling
Seansays took their build in a different direction. They ed on the transport idea, and instead used the new Animal Crossing pipes to create a roulette game. It's a clever use of multiple pipes, as once there's more than two on an island, the exit pipe is chosen randomly. Utilizing that randomness for some (responsible) gambling in New Horizons is very creative!
There is a near-limitless supply of creative builds posted to the AC subreddit - including the Animal Crossing version of Heaven and Hell - and these are but a few of them. More are sure to be posted as well, as the Warp Pipes are not a timed-item and are a permanent addition to the game. It will be interesting to see all the creative ways that players utilize these Mario items within Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the future.
