Since 2020 and the descent of lockdown, in the case of Among Us, all whilst adorning a series of colorful and enigmatic spacesuits.
With lots of venting (both in the game itself and from players during emergency meetings), literal backstabs, and a large number of players acting “Sus," Among Us became a lockdown party favorite two years after its initial lukewarm release. Such was the popularity of this now award-winning multiplayer game, it had possibly the catchiest song of 2020 dedicated entirely to it.
But while Among Us was, and still is, a fun game to play, sometimes the most enjoyment actually comes from watching other people trying to use their powers of deduction to uncover the notorious Impostor. A streamer’s own impressions in games like Among Us, as well as the dynamic they share with fellow players, often results in hilarious situations and unusual in game observations. Since SodaPoppin first ignited the flame for Among Us in 2020, there are now a myriad of Twitch and YouTube channels out there with their own takes of InnerSloth’s indie game. Best Among Us Streamers - Disguised Toast
Disguised Toast is one of the most popular Among Us streamers out there, and it is no wonder why. Along with their regular crew of streamers, Disguised Toast often comes up with new and unusual ways of adapting the game to keep it fun and interesting for viewers (as well as the players themselves). These include silly custom mods and self-imposed rules all players need to follow, such as a three-word limit during emergency meetings.
Disguised Toast and their friends clearly have a blast playing Among Us together. The hilarious and outrageous accusations that get thrown about between the regulars will raise a laugh from even the most serious of viewers. The fun that Disguised Toast has when playing Among Us is highly infectious and the perfect antidote to a less than perfect day.
Best Among Us Streamers - Syndee Goodman AKA SydSoGood
Known as the face of IGN’s the Daily Fix, Sydnee Goodman is also an avid streamer, with frequent videos on her Twitch channel (other Among Us players are guilty of.
During her Among Us streams, Sydnee always takes the time to engage with her viewers. She will answer questions on the industry, share her in-game tactics, and take the viewer by the hand as she plays through the various maps and tasks presented to her. Sydnee really makes the viewer feel like they are as big a part of her Among Us gameplay experience as the other crewmates and Impost0rs in the game are.
Best Among Us Streamers - Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
In her first ever stream, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez chose Among Us to play with popular streamers such as Pokimane and Lupo. This initially started off as a fun way to engage people in politics and to raise voter awareness, but AOC was a natural. Her endearing personality and engagement with her fellow Among Us streamers were, and still are, a pleasure to watch.
Seeing AOC react to her first Among Us kill and accidental self-report as the Impostor is just as funny on the third watch as it was on the first. AOC absolutely smashed Twitch’s records as one of the most viewed streams ever, and it is easy to see why. AOC may not stream often, but if and when she does do another Among Us stream, it will be a sure-fire way to raise a smile.
Best Among Us Streamers - Mike Channell, Andy Farrant, & Jane Douglas from Outside Xbox
The team at Outside Xbox have been keeping their followers gloriously entertained with their streams throughout lockdown. Playing games such as Werewolf and D&D with guests including Dicebreaker and Eurogamer, as well as their sister channel Outside Xtra, this trio is always hilarious, and their Among Us streams are no exception.
Seeing Outside Xbox host Mike Channell dress up as an actual spaceman to stream Among Us is delightfully wholesome. Meanwhile, the witty banter between Channell’s fellow hosts and their guests makes viewers feel as though they are spending time with some of their oldest friends. These streams are much more family-friendly than others and are the perfect way to introduce younger audiences to the eclectic chaos of Among Us.
Best Among Us Streamers - Corpse Husband
The charismatic faceless Among Us streamer billboard in Time’s Square. Corpse Husband has had to reduce their streaming career of late due to an ongoing illness, but the videos are always a great watch. Their deadpan delivery of some pretty dark jokes is deliciously off set by the simplistic and colorful gameplay of Among Us.
A large part of Corpse Husband’s appeal, however, lies within their honesty. Corpse Husband has been incredibly open about their battle with ongoing health issues and has stated that they would like to stream other games, but that the faster-paced arm-related requirements of other titles tire them out. Among Us has a fairly simple control mechanic, which means that Corpse Husband can stream the game more comfortably and give their best wit and charm in the process.
Corpse Husband’s amiable and enrapturing honesty extends beyond the very real talk about their health and wellness, however. It is fair to say, not many others would be able to pull of itting to being an Impostor and then still successfully cajole their way to winning, but this is something that Corpse Husband achieved. This Among Us streamer is one smooth character… even when they are Sus.
