Summary
- Blended is Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's worst movie.
- Thankfully, Sandler and Barrymore are open to working together again.
- The Wedding Singer is the duo's best film.
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore starred in the 2014 rom-com Sandler and Barrymore have played love interests in three movies over the course of their acting careers, making them a notable duo in Hollywood. Given that they keep on making movies together, it stands to reason that Sandler and Barrymore have a good working relationship, which has resulted in fantastic chemistry and is why many seem to love their onscreen partnership.
Sandler and Barrymore first worked together when they played the leading roles in the 1998 rom-com The Wedding Singer. Six years later (to the day), Sandler and Barrymore starred opposite one another again in the 2004 film 50 First Dates. Then, the two actors waited 10 years before reuniting in Blended. Unfortunately, Blended is undoubtedly Sandler and Barrymore's worst movie together, which is why it would be devastating if it were also their last collaboration.
Blended Cannot Be The Last Movie Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore Do Together
Blended Is Sandler & Barrymore's Worst Film
Blended, directed by Frank Coraci (who also directed The Wedding Singer) and written by Ivan Menchell and Clare Sera, premiered in May 2014 and serves as Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's third film. Sandler and Barrymore star as single parents (Jim Friedman and Lauren Reynolds, respectively) who go on a terrible blind date together in the rom-com. Despite their intent to never see one another again, Jim and Lauren run into one another at a safari resort in Africa, where they have both taken their kids for a vacation. Of course, shenanigans and romance ensue.
It would be a shame if [Adam] Sandler and [Drew] Barrymore capped off their working relationship on a bad note instead of producing one of their best films.
While the premise is somewhat fun and Sandler and Barrymore's chemistry is alive and well, Blended is still their worst movie. It's not a terrible film, though, even if critics hated the romantic comedy. Sandler and Barrymore's dynamic certainly carries Blended, but almost every other aspect of the project makes it pale in comparison to the duo's previous two collaborations. As a result, I'm hoping Blended will not be Sandler and Barrymore's last movie. It would be a shame if Sandler and Barrymore capped off their working relationship on a bad note instead of producing one of their best films.

The 7 Greatest Quotes From The Wedding Singer
An Adam Sandler classic, The Wedding Singer has produced some amazingly funny and lovable quotes throughout the film. Here are a few of the best ones.
What Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore Have Said About Working Together Again
The Frequent Collaborators Will Likely Reunite Again
The good news is that Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore are seemingly open to ing forces for another film. During an interview with Barrymore revealed she is actively looking for a new movie with Sandler. When asked about her onscreen future with her former three-time costar, Barrymore said:
"I know, I wonder the same thing, 'cause I think that it's important for us to hook into it. Maybe not be redundant of something we've done in the past, but not try to prove we're doing something different just to prove it. It's like an alchemy, you know? And it'll be a little of this, a little of that. I will say this. Adam and I seem to really know it when we know it. And we're like, 'This is is.' ... We work really hard in the writing to balance it out for the male-female perspective. We always try to infuse something that we really think is meaningful, as far as storylines, or what we relate to or what we want to see in a story, because we need that. We make it personal, even though it's not us up there."
Sandler and Barrymore have remained close over the years, and based on Barrymore's quote, they are just waiting for the right time and story to work together again. So, it's only a matter of time before Sandler and Barrymore reunite in their fourth project. Based on their history, one can assume Sandler and Barrymore's next film will be a rom-com. However, anything is possible, especially given Sandler's recent venture into other genres such as science fiction and drama.
Which Is Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore's Best Movie Collaboration?
Is The Wedding Singer Or 50 First Dates The Better Film?
I can immediately take Blended out of contention as Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's best movie. So, that leaves The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, which are both rom-coms but still two very different films. The 1998 movie follows a wedding singer (Robbie, played by Sandler) who falls in love with an engaged woman (Julia, portrayed by Barrymore) in the mid-1980s. Meanwhile, 50 First Dates revolves around the love story between a womanizing marine veterinarian (Sandler's Henry) and a woman with anterograde amnesia whose memory resets every morning. Nevertheless, it's evident that The Wedding Singer is the superior film.

The Wedding Singer is Sandler and Barrymore's most positively reviewed movie among critics and audiences by a landslide. While critics were higher on 50 First Dates than Blended, neither comes close to Sandler and Barrymore's first collaboration. Additionally, viewers' opinion of the 2004 rom-com is seemingly in line with the 2014 film. Ultimately, The Wedding Singer contains more laughs, interesting characters, and a better story overall when compared to 50 First Dates and Blended.
