After a chaotic and musically-charged desecration of Logan's grave, Deadpool & Wolverine quickly cashes in on the MCU's multiverse arc, using the trope to allow Jackman to play a Wolverine variant rather than his most famous version of the character. It's a creative way to reinstall the actor as the clawed X-Man, and the only way it could realistically be achieved without undoing the beauty and brilliance of Logan's ending.
