Gateway City has never seen anything like the Harbinger-Prime, the enormous, ravenous monster that has just risen from the depths of the ocean to darken its shores…but the Harbinger has never seen anything like the unstoppable Diana, Princess of the Underworld! |
Among the anticipated titles in this universe is Kelly Thompson and Hayden Sherman’s Absolute Wonder Woman #2, scheduled for release on November 27, 2024. The solicitation for this issue reveals Diana’s new title: The Princess of the Underworld.
“Princess of the Underworld”: Absolute Wonder Woman’s New Nickname Confirms Her Hellish Origins
From Main Cover by Daniel Sampere & Alejandro Sánchez for All-In Special #1
From the Princess of Themyscira to the Princess of the Underworld, this is a dark turn for the Amazon, but it's undeniably hardcore. This new title confirms that Absolute Wonder Woman will have a hellish origin—literally. While the solicitation doesn’t explicitly confirm this, news from San Diego Comic-Con suggests that Diana isn’t just a warrior like her DCU counterpart; she’s also a witch who was raised in hell instead of Themyscira. Witch Warrior Wonder Woman is perhaps the coolest twist Diana has seen in decades, and fans will undoubtedly be eager to uncover how she came to be raised in hell.
Despite Hades being Diana’s home in this narrative, the solicitation still identifies her as an Amazon, while other news confirms that she is the last one alive. This raises intriguing questions: Why was Diana raised in hell instead of Themyscira, and what happened to the other Amazons on this Earth? DC wasn’t exaggerating when they hinted at darker, grittier origins for fan-favorite characters like Diana. With the DCU and AU existing side by side, much like how Marvel's Ultimate Universe exists alongside the main universe, it will be fascinating to see how the Diana of Earth-Prime reacts to her counterpart.

Wonder Woman's New ABSOLUTE Continuity Removes the 1 Limitation That's Broken Her for Decades
As DC launches its new Absolute Universe, characters will be re-imagined and changed from what fans know, and this is just what Wonder Woman needs.
Absolute Wonder Woman’s New Tattoo Design & Undead Winged-Horse Are Beyond Badass
Main Cover by Hayden Sherman for Absolute Wonder Woman #1
In addition to being a witch warrior raised in hell, Absolute Wonder Woman exudes pure badassery with her striking character design. She now sports an ox-blood red tattoo, wields a gigantic greatsword, and dons a new costume that might be one of her best yet. This outfit swaps Diana’s traditional red, blue, and gold armor for a red, black, and silver ensemble. Her usual gladiator skirt is replaced by red and black pants, topped with a skirt-like accessory, and paired with thigh-high black boots and matching shoulder pauldrons. Perhaps most striking of all is Absolute Wonder Woman’s undead, winged horse, which further cements her hellish new origin.
Absolute Wonder Woman #2 will be released from DC Comics on November 27, 2024!

Created on the island of Themyscira, Wonder Woman is a super-powered demi-goddess with extreme physical strength who utilizes magical gifts (like her famous Lasso of Truth) to defeat her foes. As mighty as her fellow heroes Superman and the Justice League, Wonder Woman is unmatched in her comion and virtue.
