Arguably the most iconic superhero of all time, Superman is getting a major overhaul that's sure to get fans' blood pumping. DC Comics has finally revealed details about its Absolute Universe and provided fans with a glimpse of its new take on the Trinity, including a bold new design for the Man of Steel.

Days before DC Comics heads to San Diego Comic-Con 2024, the publisher has revealed major details about its brand-new DC All In initiative. In an announcement, Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson discuss the debut of the Absolute Universe and give fans a peek at this world's redesigned heroes.

Though details were mum, artwork showcased the Absolute Universe's take on Superman. This Clark has a shaggier hairstyle and has a bit of stubble on his face. Absolute Superman has a flowing cape, a modernized symbol, and a nearly all-blue costume with glowing red accents on his sides and arms.

Absolute Superman Gets His Hottest Update Update Yet

The DC Universe is currently grappling with Amanda Waller's power grab in Absolute Power. But this October, Superman and his allies are going to go up against the galactic despot Darkseid. But unlike their numerous confrontations in the past, this battle will lead to the creation of a new world, the Absolute Universe. Snyder revealed that much like how the Prime DC Universe was built on Superman, the Absolute Universe will be built on "Darkseid energy" and that this universe's Superman and his allies would be underdogs who lack the comforts of the Prime Universe.

Details about Absolute Superman aren't available just yet, but the image of this new Superman is certainly enough to get people talking. Aside from his more dashing appearance compared to the more traditional-looking Man of Tomorrow, the Absolute Universe's Superman has something interesting going on with his gauntlets, which appear to be glowing the same kind of red as Clark's heat vision. Could this Superman possess a power that the Prime Man of Steel doesn't, say the ability to channel solar radiation through different parts of his body?
