The pair communicated for two years before Alabama native Niles took the trip to Ghana to meet Matilda in person for the first time. Niles, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder, couldn't believe it when Matilda messaged him, but he seized the opportunity, and the pair have a lot to show for it.

90 Day Fiancé's second spinoff, Before the 90 Days, premiered in 2017. Season 7 aired from September 2024 to February 2025. Niles and Matilda were ed by cast Adnan Abdelfattah and Niles and Matilda had a captivating story, and have become one of the most-liked couples of the season.

They Got Married

Niles' friends and family were wary of his relationship with Matilda before he went to Ghana. Niles had accidentally proposed to Matilda before his trip, and he was overwhelmed by Matilda's drive to get married on his first trip meeting her. When he confronted Matilda about not getting married on his first trip, it upset her. However, she agreed to do the traditional knocking ceremony with her family. But things went left for Niles when he asked a Ghana elder and friend, Mr. Arc, to stand in as his father for the knocking ceremony.

90 Day Fiancé's Mr. Arc said he would only agree to stand in if Niles went through with the marriage, and Niles obliged. But Niles had yet another wrinkle. He was out of money and couldn't afford the wedding. He confessed to Matilda that he was fired from his job before his trip but that he had a new job potentially lined up. Mr. Arc agreed to loan Niles the money for the wedding, and the pair went through with it happily.

When it came time for the Before the 90 Days season 7 Tell All, Niles revealed that he had paid Mr. Arc back, but that he had been unable to visit Matilda in Ghana. It had been almost a year since he and Matilda had seen each other, Niles relayed at the Tell All. The Tell All became heated for Niles, who was consistently interrupted, triggered, and disrespected by Adnan. Niles showed restraint against the villain, but they now have bad blood. Niles and Matilda, however, did solidify that they were still happily married.

Their goal was to raise $8,000, but the pair have secured a whopping $16,415 as of right now. Matilda and Niles have been busy thanking their fans and those who contributed, and they are now much closer to their goal of getting Matilda to America. It's unclear whether Niles intends to use the money to visit Matilda in the meantime, although he stated at the Tell All he would like to make the trip.

On the show, Matilda worked selling food items on the street with her family.
