During a Q&A, Veah revealed that the ring Sunny bought for her was “very cheap” because he bought it with her money. “Cheap and affordable I’m not complaining at all,” Veah added. She explained she did not know what Sunny was going to spend her money on.

“I mean what money was he going to use?”

Veah wrote that it was hard for Sunny to make money “in a country like that.” According to her, Sunny’s only source of income was “trading.” Sunny supposedly doesn’t get paid by his father at the shop.

However, he was not making an income there. Sunny got paid free things from the shop itself, such as shampoo and soap or whatever they had that he could take. It seems Sunny’s father never gave him any money in exchange for his work.

It appears Veah had been funding Sunny’s lifestyle in Durban. Sunny took Veah to live in some great hotels during her trips, and it must have been the money he used. Sunny may have also accepted Veah’s demands not to convert to Islam, since he depended on her for money and knew she’d stop giving him any once they broke up.
