Amy and Tammy Slaton's relationship has always been strained on season 3 will serve as a true test of the sisters' relationship.
Amy and Tammy made the t decision to star on a reality show together as motivation to lose weight. Although the duo of Slaton sisters faced ambitious weight loss goals, the silver lining was that they got the opportunity to embark on the road to recovery together. As Tammy and Amy's lives developed on 1000-Lb Sisters, however, it has become more evident that there's friction between the co-stars. After Amy got bariatric surgery and shared that she was pregnant, Tammy didn't seem very happy for her sister. Instead, Tammy reverted to making rude comments about Amy, seemingly out of resentment that Amy would be less available to her. The sisters have managed to keep control of their brewing conflict up to now, but season 3 looks like it could hold a turning point for Amy and Tammy's relationship.

Another reason why it will be more difficult for Amy and Tammy to get along on season 3 is that both stars are at vastly different stages in their lives. Since giving birth to her son Gage in November 2020, Amy's priorities have naturally shifted. Before, Amy had more room in her life to take care of Tammy and put up with her nonsense, but now, Amy has a growing child to worry about. Mothering a newborn is enough to overwhelm any new mother, and Amy's new responsibilities have likely lowered her tolerance for Tammy's childish attitude. Conversely, Tammy is facing serious frustration in season 3. While Amy has made progress in her weight loss journey and personal life, Tammy is almost exactly where she started in season 1. Tammy may have built up a ton of resentment for her sister by the time season 3 began filming.
Like any pair of siblings on reality television, Tammy and Amy never had the perfect relationship. The highly anticipated 1000-lb Sisters season 3 will be a new challenge for the sisters, however, as Amy has new priorities and Tammy can't let go of her old habits. Hopefully, Amy and Tammy can the test ahead of them on 1000-Lb Sisters and salvage what's left of their relationship.
