Formally a console exclusive on Xbox Series X|S, Silent Hill-inspired experience that deeply explored the tenets of supernatural storytelling.

Bloober Team's latest venture into horror drops players into the role of Marianne, a medium whose tether to a plane beyond our own allows her to simultaneously inhabit the natural and spiritual worlds. Marianne's powers come into a play outside of surface level storytelling, however. The development crew worked tirelessly to also incorporate her abilities into The Medium's gameplay and overall presentation, thus explaining the split-screen mechanic. Split-screen's activation occurs whenever Marianne traverses the real and spiritual worlds concurrently, allowing players to solve puzzles and such in one to progress through the other. Since Xbox's timed-exclusivity has ended, PS5 owners can now jump into the spirit realm.

In honor of the psychological horror title's release on the platform, PS5 launch trailer in the following video:

One section of the trailer touts The Medium's DualSense , which introduces features that should make the experience feel "more immersive." Like several games before it, The Medium takes advantage of DualSense's adaptive triggers and haptic . The adaptive triggers apply resistance under certain circumstances, whereas the haptics relay pulsing and tapping sensations in others. Bloober Team made use of the touchpad and motion controls, too, specifically for instances of investigating items.

The Polish production crew reportedly has multiple projects in production, one of which it's Silent Hill game, though Bloober Team has implied this speculation is false.
