Disney Animation is officially fast-tracking a in response to the backlash from audiences.

Whereas many felt the half-hour short was a step too far for Anna's comical sidekick, the majority of filmgoers responded much better to Olaf returning to his ing character status in last year's Frozen II (even if he did releasing early on Disney+ in response to the coronavirus pandemic, those who subscribe to the service are now able to enjoy the snowman and his shenanigans while they self-quarantine safely at home. But for those who could a little more Olaf in their lives, there's good news.

In an announcement, Disney Animation revealed it's developing an all-new digital series featuring Olaf. Gad will once again provide the snowman's voice while social distancing by recording his dialogue and sound effects at home. Hyrum Osmond, a longtime Disney Animation veteran and Olaf's Supervising Animator, is similarly creating the series from the safety of his own home. You can check out Gad's tweet about the news along with the official clip embedded below.

This is probably the ideal format for a little bit of Olaf silliness to chuckle at before they go about with the rest of their day. Plus, with Osmond handling the animation, the Olaf series will look just as good as the Frozen theatrical releases (as this video demonstrates).

As for the future of the Frozen movies, directors Jennifer Lee (who's also the current CCO of Disney Animation) and Chris Buck have so far Frozen 2 grossed $1.45 billion at the global box office, it's definitely something the Mouse House will consider. It could be a while before we get a concrete yes or no on the topic, though, much like it took six years for Frozen to get a sequel in the first place. In the meantime, this digital series will help to tide fans over while they remain safe at home.
